First things first, STEVEN SEAGAL is a (gasp!) 'human-being. And like all of us, arrogance gets the better of us.
I mean, look at us, we all like the guys movies/his outlook/his music (etc) but how often do YOU read a 'possitive' article on him, in the media.
I reckon a lot of his arrogance, may be a certain wearyness of the press (american, or otherwise)
As for his private life...whatever floats the guys boat, as long as it's not illegal (i'm no saint either, you know!)
Maybe what he says, may come accross as arrogant, to certain people. But when i've seen (admittedly scarce) interviews with him, he comes accross as literate, informative and spiritually minded. But as usual, it's always the 'wrong' people that interview him/critic his movies (and so on)
I'm sure a certain fraction of the media, enjoy his films, but are infused with a built-in sense of snobbery, that prevents them from showing their true feelings.
After all, the press (american, or otherwise) are there to 'BUILD THEM UP....AND KNOCK THEM DOWN'
But just to go over what i've said, i'm not defending the guy for being arrogant (if he is?) i'm glad he shares a 'human' trait, i just think certain people in the media, are not in tune with what SEAGAL is trying to do.
I mean, the same media that attacks SEAGAL and his movies, think WE (i.e, whoever is on this site, and reading this) are 'mindless-blood-lusting-idiots'
Shows how much the media knows, and untill MR SEAGAL starts paying MY rent, i'll leave his private life up to him.

Oh, yeah, in this country we have a music group called OASIS (who i can't stand, by the way, they are a second rate BEATLES rip-off...and i can't stand THE BEATLES...give me THE STONES anyday!!!) and they are fronted by a guy named LIAM GALLAGHER.....Now that guy is a arrogant prick. Imagine if every picture of STEVEN SEAGAL on this site, had him 'flipping the bird'

I agree with you, Lee...He's knowlegable, smart and speaks his mind, maybe they just can't take that...We also have to remember that he did grow up in Asia, so he acts a bit different...Not weird, not arrogant, just really unique...Nothing wrong with having some self confidence, I could learn some of that from him...

Well... I didnt mean to start a riot... But if you take a step back and look at the guy... he seems to have a arrogant flare in my opinion. Even Larry Reynosa has commented on it a few times.
After all, just because you are a good martial artist doesnt mean you are a good human being. Take Van Damme for example. (if you can even call him a martial artist)
BTW... I heard a rumor online that Seagal is reviving the "American Ninja" series.

Steven Seagal is a great humanitarian and environmentalist!
But the dear press has a big problem in printing anything good
that he does or is involved in.

Well, as Casey says I LIKE the way he is...However, I am kind of TOO emotionally sensitive...And I find my sensitivity quite a hinderance, in other words, I don't at all think it's a positive thing...Steven's direct approach might come off as arrogance or even impoliteness to some, but if that's his way, then that's just his way, I admire him...I think from what I have learned so far, all the "proper" behavior we are taught early on is just a sort of front...In other words we as humans tend to do things and act certain ways to make impressions...I think Steven is the type who has for the most part let all that stuff go...He also seems to have gotten pretty far in this life, so I can't knock him...I don't know of course what he's really like, maybe I will someday...But, I think you either have to like him or not and I surely do so far... Maybe in this case, what you see is what you get, huh? Nothing wrong with that in my mind...I guess it's true though, that humans tend to be attracted those whos traits are quite the opposite of their own...Maybe thats true...All I know is I'm soooo attracted....

People simply don't understand.It's nothing but their delusional perception and when it comes to perception everything's so relative and there could be no certainty in anybody's saying coz we all see different things in different ways.So these dogs may bark at the trees as much as they want if they think it's gonna change something...they're too much wrong.The tree won't become a fox,it'll still be too much a tree.And so Steven was,is and will always be himself no matter what these media troopers may throw at him.The essense won't change.
