Oh I did find that old Rolling Stone article about Seagal doing some recordings during the filming of 'Exit Wounds"
........Actor, producer, director and screenwriter Steven Seagal has hooked up with hit-making producers and songwriters from the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync and Britney Spears' camps to work on his debut album
We could have a deal whenever we want. We have all kinds of offers," says the action-film star, who is in Toronto filming Exit Wound, a drama about an attempted assassination on the President. Seagal plays the good cop to rapper/actor DMX's "bad cop with a conscience."
Seagal, one of Hollywood's top action film stars, also co-wrote the song "Running" for the film with artist and producer Devonte of Jodeci. A singer and guitarist, Seagal's originals have appeared in the soundtracks to several of his films, including Fire Down Below, Out For Justice and On Deadly Ground, but never on a full album bearing his name. For his solo debut, Seagal isn't digging into his own archives but composing fresh material.
"I wrote twenty-seven songs for the album and we don't know which ones we'll use, but four of them are close to mastered," says the imposing, yet soft-spoken Seagal. The album is expected to be finished by February.
Some of Seagal's older material is in a traditional blues-based vein, but the more recent songs venture into pop, alt rock and even urban territory, due primarily to his awareness of the current commercial radio climate.
"I grew up with Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Gait Mudbrown, those guys, so I can play that old kind of blues," says Seagal. "Most of the folks these days don't know that stuff too well, but I'm not trying to take the old blues and make it popular again because they say people don't really like that stuff anymore."
Los Angeles-based Orlando transplant Brett Stuart (Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore, Coolio, Flock of Seagulls) has been hired to engineer the recording sessions and is responsible for bringing in many of the session players and contemporary producers.
"Steven's a great writer," says Stuart. "He comes up with really good hooks and it's just a matter of finding the right direction."
Among those enlisted to help Seagal find that direction are songwriters Greg Barnhill (Grammy nominee for Trisha Yearwood's "Walk Away Joe"), Billy Preston (Rolling Stones), David Porter (Bette Midler, Barry Manilow), Devonte (Michael Jackson) and Veit Renn (Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Britney Spears).
"I have one song called 'When I Close My Eyes,' which is about how the world could be if people took away the boundaries and the barriers of political, religious and racial differences. It's a very spiritual song," explains Seagal, a Buddhist practitioner and seventh-degree black belt aikido master.
Since Seagal has been shooting in Toronto since August and will remain in the city until the beginning of November, he has recorded at the state-of-the-art Metalworks Studios as well as on his porta-studio set up in the basement of his rented house in an unorthodox approach -- recording some vocals and guitars in the sauna (with the steam switch off). "It sounds better than a lot of studios I've been in," Stuart says. Seagal, who has an impressive guitar and gear collection, used one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's vintage Stratocasters and one of Jimi Hendrix's Marshall amps on some tracks.
Seagal is under contract with Warner Bros. for three films, over an eighteen-month period. He is slated to begin work on the second one Dec. 5. But when time permits, he performs at clubs and casinos.
"I play all over the world," he says. "The last tour I did, I had [keyboard player] Tim Carmen from Eric Clapton, Bernard Fowler from the Rolling Stones, [bassist] Reggie McBride from Stevie Wonder and Billy Preston play with me."
There is no word yet on whether Seagal will tour behind his debut album.

PS: Did find the 'Nora's Theme' song(SEE POST BELOW FOR DOWNLOAD) from the French Aid's fundraiser CD...it's with Ice-T doing the rap vocals and sounds like Seagal doing a wah-wah rythm track in the background.
