Ye defenetly, did anyone else see the oscars last night? lifetime achievement Robert Altman was a good choice i guess (we all love "shrt cuts" right?=) but i wonder how long it will take (dare i say it) the most underrated and unjustified trash-talked actor of all time ... thats right ... Steven ... to finally get some oficial recongition in the form of for example a lifetime achievement award? do they only judge the sucess of the films and not what the people have done OUTISDE of films, in real life, how they are as a PERSON, what messages they want to send to the world.... Its a shame. :(

good to see he didnt attend that oscars award show anyways. it is way beneath his character in my opinion.. .that whole thing is just to comercialized.

Love, M.

Steven actually presented an Oscar in umm maybe 1992. I think it was for Special Effects or Sound. Either way Seagal should have kept up.

Speaking of Crash I reckon Seagal would have been pretty good in that film as the emotionally drained cop played by Matt Dillon. Seagal does look kind of worn out at the best of times, and he could play a cop with his eyes closed.

Thanks for the varification there. I was sure it was something to do with Gump, but I was equally sure it was the year after he became a big star with 'Under Siege' in 1992, so I picked the latter. Doh. Thanks for the pic! Awesome.

I do remember when he handed them out he said "And one for you, one for you..." etc. So Seagal.

Shoot! The guy on the far left looks just likes James Brolin!!

And Michael J Fox next to him!

Seagal will never get a lifetime achievement award because he has never found long lasting mainstream appeal. I think it will be a while before even someone like Sylvester Stallone gets an award.

I think the reason he does not attend now is because there is no need. He will never get invited to present another award and would we really want him to? It would only highlight just how far he has fallen. And these days, judging by the state of his career, he doesn't have many friends left in hollywood.

And you know this how?..He is an very likeable guy iam sure he has plenty of freinds...plus his work keeps him busy enough...

If Seagal has plenty of friends in Hollwood, then surely he wouldn't be in the state he is in now? Surely he would have found his way out of DTV hell and back into mainstream cinematic releases? Sure his work keeps him busy, but it is busy wrecking what little of his career his has left.

Just a matter of opinion formed on the facts I know. In case you had forgotten we are allowed to express our own opinions here, even if they do not laud Seagal.

Thats right every one has there own oppinion and like you said as long as it isnt putting down steven its ok..he gets enough put downs by the media etc.. he doesnt to hear it from us...

Well I think he does need to hear 'put downs' from us, his true fans. I would not call them put downs merely critical advise but if 'put down' is the way you wish to phrase it then so be it, I just think it has a very negative vibe. If we don't tell him when something is not of acceptable quality, how will ne ever know to change? You are right that he gets 'put downs' from the media. On some occasions they are not acceptable or appropriate and we should support him. However more often than not recently, they are criticisms of his DTV efforts and I think that we should go along with those views in order that Seagal might realise he is making poor quality films and do something about it.

I am not a Seagal basher. I am a true fan unlike some people around here as I am able to be both objective and critical but in a positive way. Evidently you are one of those people who is not a true fan. I have tried to make serious points yet you, unable to comprehend their seriousness on any level other than a personal attack on Seagal, have followed the example set by others who disagree with me on this site. That is you resort to cheap and personal attacks on my character. As I have said before I don't think the colour in which somone writes is relevant to the seriousness of their point. I think you know this but cannot face up to the truth that lies at the centre of my posts. Therefore a cheap and frankly childish comment about my font colour is all you could muster. If you had been following some of the other threads more carefuly, you would know why I write in this colour.

I am glad that you find it so funny pitts. Obviously you too are not a true fan. If all you can do is laugh when a serious and valid point is made should you really be here at all? I think not.
