Still our Man

who asked them..??
some younger people were talking about Steven like he was 90. They said he was good looking a few years back but hes gotten mature looking (heavier older). Sure he has they were referring to a film 10 years ago (On Deadly Ground) I bet you look different from 94 too.

Too many people have made issue of what he was and is now he hasnt changed THAT much. Im sure he could still kick A== if he really found the need to. one idiot even guessed he really wasn't a master at all that he was given this title not so Kemosabe after the 7th dan they decide to award or not a higher title but 1-6 is all his about 3o years of effort.

If not how did he get a best instructor award from BBM(Black Belt Mag) ?a highly prestigious honor very few earn I mean you have to be damn good to get it and an honorary title wouldnt cut that.

They have their own younger celeb system anyway and yes I agree he belongs to an older group (myself included at 41) however they are welcome to watch and appreciate his work just dont pass judgement on a man you dont know or you wouldnt have said that. Judge him by what he has to offer and what he stands for not how big he is (in Harry Potter there is a real giant of a man hes almost 7ft and he has a heart just as big)size is beside the point thats just more of Steven to love. I love him just the way he is whis with me?

As for the girls their choices for hunks were guys I never heard of, and I saw thier pictures and said "so?" hunks would be a stretch so we feel the same way but then again after seeing Steven its hard to take second best.

Take care BIG GUY

I appreciate what you're saying here, SAS GA.:) I know you've always had nothing but good things to say about Steven Seagan and admire him on many levels, and are one of the few very fortunate people to have actually seen him in person.

However, I do have to say that I think almost all, if not all, of our younger members, some in their teens and early 20s, have nothing but respect and admiration for Steven. I'm surprised sometimes by how knowledgeable they actually are about the details of his movies and his martial arts skills. And now even his musical talents.

I think it's excellent that we have such a wide age group here that has a genuine respect and appreciation of Steven Seagal. :)

Of course, I'm not saying where I fit in in that age span. :D

Good to see you back posting, SAS GA. :)

Disposition Seagal
I'm not sure who you are talking about but I still think that Seagal is great and that most things/people get better with age.

I happen to be in my teens, and I still think Seagal kicks ass. Of course, as i have said in "The Art of the Comeback" thread, yes there are a lot of teenagers who dont like seagal, but then again, there were a lot of them back when Seagal was doing his big time movies like "Under Siege". Just like in the 50's,60's,70's and 80's, pop culture and movie trends change. Movies like the "LOTR" are now the big action blockbusters, and Seagal's movies cant compete with the following that series has. I dont care whether or not Seagal will be back permanently in theatres, if he never makes a film like he did in his younger years, or if I am made fun of by everyone in the school(which i am not, those who have seen a seagal movie enjoy his films), i will stay a fan. They can criticise the man all the want, but one things for sure, Steven Seagal's career is "Hard to Kill"

so blessed

Thank you all for your beautiful back up was not speaking against all teens these were like 20 something or younger on one of those MTV like shows supposed to be so cool they were just having a discussion about who THEY liked and alwas going well til they get to the "well he use to be good looking"part

I beg to differ as Steven says to paraphrase ODG "what does it take?..what does it take?" the answer was "it takes time " Res Dog glad to see you stand up for him good job maybe theres hope yet that not everybody thought he was so old .
thios show looked like it was sponsored by Bratz dolls..my niced is 12 she was watching this stuff..I paid attention when I heard Stevens name pop up
Thanks Serena..he can get moody but hes still a nice guy. I know he was just playing but he put his hand on the back of my neck one it felt like a vise gave me chills. You all have no idea how big his hands are someone said that once she put her hands in his where he life them in cement Id like to seen that .

He's changed in many ways, but he's all the more beautiful now, and I don't just mean the outside....
He's a great man, one who moves me to tears, one who makes me wonder about life, one who makes me feel everthing like I never have before...
But then have I ever complained about him?
Never have, and never will...
He's amazing, totally amazing...

In TKD yes, but not in aikido...

According to a few things I've read about TKD, all say that the highest ranking to be achieved is a 6th dan. After that, it's the experience in training that counts. For example, Chuck Norris got his 8th degree black belt in Tae-Kwan-Do sort of as an honourary, but he was still in training and that's the reason for his earning. I'm not sure if the same thing goes for aikido, but I wouldn't think so.

Steven Segal has earned his aikido rankings and that's what counts.

Grandmasters Skills

My grandmaster is 9th Dan in TKD ( I am 2 from black myself) If you all complain about how hard a black belt is to get try getting a 9th Dan in Korea they are still honor bound to prove their ability to lead .

I saw two holes in my masters wrist area I said what is that? he said "thats how I became Grandmaster". I said "what did you do?" in awe. He said "In Korea only the mentally tough are allowed to lead." he had a skewer run through his wrist and a bucket of water attached he then walks up a hill and its done to both arms if you spill alot of water you are not fit..he did not spill it and he is very tough.

Point is Steven is just as tough in his own right, his eyes are very different like a master who knows things. He seldom gets chatty, he listens well though..
only one of a few men who says "whats wrong?" and then actually sticks around to help you. hes very well off he doesnt have to stay but he does and that says alot about his character.

likewise I apprciate him for what he is not who.

He judges us by what we are not who

Since you seem to like to "name drop" let's try to spell his name right, ok?

I don't have rage.
I think the issue is simply that the bulk of the movie going crowd these days is young people. Young people want to see Brad Pitt or Matt Damon or Eliza Dushku, etc., etc. A lot of them just think actors like Clint and Steven are just 'old guys'.

I like Seagal because, unlike Affleck and Damon (though I like Damon), Seagal can actually do what you see him doing on screen. These current actors take a few months of training to do whatever the script requires and that's pretty much it. Steven Seagal is a 7th Dan in Aikido and also knows Judo and Kendo. Combine his actual martial arts knowledge with his cool style and great sense of sarcasm and you'll see why Seagal is a terrific actor.

Even though Brad Pitt is more my age, I find him totally boring, in fact, somehow, I actually dislike him...
Brad and Jen are hollywood gods, but WHY?
And that Ben and Jen crap was just sickening, really...
Matt Damon, and Eliza, well, I don't really know their work...
I think the older actors have way more substance...
I don't think of Steven in terms of his age, although I appreciate the wisdom and experience that it brings...
I think he's much more intriguing now than ever before...
And yes, the fact that he can do those things wows me...
Has anyone ever seen a man of 50 move like he did in Exit Wounds?
I was, I am, and I always will be impressed by him...
What a man!
Then, now, and always!

Lotus, have you seen Seven Years In Tibet?Brad Pitt was great in it,and I'm not saying I've ever seen any other movies with him or ever been a fan of him...But in my opinion he's no boring....but thus it's just my opinion....but then I'm wrong to say you have an imagination  :D

Pitt ...

Fight Club was good ... and many say that Troy is good too ... yeah, go figure, they'd be giving such roles to a bad actor ... he wouldn't be getting such projects if he wasn't a good actor.

Hey, we all have our preferences, that's the spice of life...I can't help it if he floats my boat, not too many do, I must admit...But it's very, very nice when someone does...:D
And he definately does...

What's new? LOL ... and what's next? ...

But what will happen to the boat when it meets one of those U.S. carriers (i.e. when Seagal finds himself the next Mrs. Seagal)? ...
