What the **** is that post??? Can i only like movies when Steven Seagal is fighting 90 minutes. Do you watch only movies with Steven Seagal?

Im a big fan, but i like Submerged. Yes i hoped there were more fights, more Steven Seagal in it, but it wasn't sooo bad, stop it. I mean first: The colors and the post production was done very well (except the voice dubbing), and the Action (Helicopter-Crash) wasn't that bad!!!

And only because i like this movie im not a Seagal Fan??? What the hell are you talking?? I mean i can say the same from ones who liked Into the Sun... Because i didn't enjoy that movie because Steven Seagal is only walking 80 minutes from scene to scene to speech to someone.

Someone likes this movie better, some the other ones. But that has nothing todo if they are Steven Seagal Fans or not. I like every movie he's in, and for me ITS A LOT MORE ENJOYABLE IF I SEE SOME ACTION SCENES, THAN ONLY 2 HOURS TALKING.

Please don't say im not a Steven Seagal Fan!

Over and Out!

I mean everbody has their own opinion and I respect it but come on lets be real here, when you watch Submerged you either have to be blind to not admit that was not a good Seagal film. When you watch movies liked Marked For Death, Under Siege, etc... and you watch Submerged, how can you call Submerged a good Seagal film??

Right On Little Dragon every movie since Exit Wounds to me has been pure trash. If compared to Marked For Death Or ABL theyre worse than trash there like dog poop.

After I read all these horrible reviews even from people who sometimes seem to idolize the guys every step, I really think I'd be better off not even wasting the measly 5 bucks to rent the thing, let alone spend my hard earned money to buy a dust magnet...oops i mean an "action film" by mr. big coat shadow man.

I don't know why I wasited 25$ on this film, I will probably never watch it again, the only good it did was to add to my Seagal film collection and bragging I have every one of Seagal's films.

As far as Im concerned these are the only films of Steven Seagals that Dont deserve to be in the trash can, and are the only ones I will own. (On Deadly Ground was ok and Seagal looked more like Babe Ruth than an action star in Glimmer Man)

Above The Law
Hard To Kill
Out For Justice
Marked For Death
Under Siege 1
Under Siege 2:DT
Exit Wounds

You are walking on quicksand with your Reply. It is Directed at LittleDragon and has a very good chance of getting Deleted.

Thanks hofmae! :) :) I'm sure that within 5 minutes though someone will say, "You must be blind for liking this movie" "You must be deaf or retarted for liking this movie" or "this movie isn't nearly as good as Under Seige".
Thanks for the support! :)

Oh my god... This discussion will never ends.... Look someone like this one, and some others... I like the old seagal movies much more. But i like the new ones too. I can't understand why so much people liked Into the Sun so much, but i accept it. Its like with music, everyone likes other things...And Submerged is very well done, its maybe not the best seagal film, but the postproduction was very well done. You see that per example if you look to the colors in this movie. Very powerful colors. And so on... That are all things that wouldn't be done if some people doesn't put a lot of efforts in it.

To be honest I don't have the time to argue with ignorant people. If moderators are going to Delete this whole sentence because of one word perhaps do this: Replace "ignorant" with "certain". Through some people couldn't hold their rage and wrote worse things.

What Glimmer stated expresses everything I am feeling at the moment. I already stated this more or less in a few posts but people ignored me as well. Blind? Well perhaps not. In denial yes.

This discussion can become quite lengthy but don't you find it strange or peculiar that the only supporter you have is hofmae? And the other people here are overpowering this thread? Doesn't this tell you something? General opinion of Seagal has changed. You can play the role of Lone Wolf McQuade but you know how most of us feel. Maybe you like to stand away from the group. That's understandable I do too. But this time I think you know the truth.

P.S I have to go read the Van Damme/Seagal Plot Idea but I am eagerly awaiting the “Ok” Reply from Hofmae and the vulgarly challenging Reply from Clement.

You caught me in a moment sort of. I was about to Send my Script to a Contest but since the Forms are long to fill out I decided to take a few minutes off.

Well from what I read it sounds like a quite enjoyable action film. Through hopefully the focus isn't too long on Cuban/Jamaican Gangs. I felt they over done it in Marked For Death. Frankly I got better things to do with my time than learn about Voodoo Practices. Or learn how Cocaine is made for that matter. I have seen Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather Trilogy. Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Casino, and Gangs of New York. I have seen Sergio Leone's Once Upon A Time in America. Basically all the epics which told me enough about the Mafia world.

I enjoyed your portrayal of Seagal through he reminds me more of the type of character he played in Hard To Kill. Maybe a combination of the two?

Jean Claude Van Damme's acting skills are quite improved now. Even as a villain he has come a long way from Black Eagle to Replicant. No Retreat, No Surrender would be somewhere in between.

I like the opening in the building it reminded me of some Sniper Films I seen. Sort of that gritty feel as the cheered potagonist makes his way upwards to either his death or victory. You get that Game of Death feel as Bruce Lee climbs the three levels of the tower. This is a perfect opening scene for the much desired Action over the years. First two levels give enough time for Seagal to showcase his quick Aikido moves and some violent John Woo style gun play. The last level perhaps with Van Damme could be the grandiose stand off. Now this scene can play out in two different ways. You can either use it for the beginning and have the spectacular fight between the two be just a short "introduction to the enemy" kind of thing. Or you can save it for the end which in my opinion would be much better. Seagal is angry, at a point of no return, and all hell is about to break loose. If it was the beginning then its sort of "he doesn't know what awaits him" type of deal. Either way you go both can be made powerful.

On the last note I enjoyed the picture moment through some might have founded it cliche but decided to keep their feelings hidden and say "amazing". I put down exactly how I feel. That's one of the things about me.

Anyways you are on the right path so if you do have the time I say go for it. Even if they decline etc You can always get two other stars in there.

"General opinion of Seagal has changed."
My point is simply this, general opinion is not my opinion. I liked Submerged, and I don't like being told that I am in the wrong for liking it. Your opinion is different than mine, but what makes your opinion correct and mine incorrect??
And if you read through the reviews, me and hofmae are not the only two people who liked Submerged. I guess your opinion is so important to you that you have blocked out all the other reviews. I admit Seagal's recent movies aren't of the same quality, but can't you accept that I enjoyed Submerged?
Instead I'm in denial, I don't appreciate someone telling me what I should like or not like. I am also sick and tired of talking to ignorant people who keep trying to stuff there opinions down my throat. I actually am looking forward to Seagal's next DTV productions, in a couple more years Seagal won't even be making any more movies, I'd rather have some B-movies instead of none at all. But enough of this discussion from me, I wonder why nobody posts reviews in this thread anymore, probably to affraid they will be attacked.

yeah that was just the beginning setup of both the hero and villain. The opening scene nothing less haha I thought you might like it. I'd say he is a mix between Nico Toscani and John Hatcher....Definitely not the holy man of buddha seagal.LOL

I appreciate the fact that he is still making movies. But instead of eight Direct to Video films if he made two or three quality Theatrical films I would be much happier. Or if the Studios have no interest in him as a theatrical vehicle than perhaps two or three quality Direct to Video Releases.

I also have an opinion that differs from most people. I agree with the General Opinion about his newer films but to what degree is a different story.

So I guess it's just that. Two people who think of each other as of being lesser in importance and ignorant. But the truth is I am self centered and can admit it. But can you? Because you certainly didn’t subtly communicate your view or the importance of it over others. Maybe it’s a flaw in all Seagal Fans.

This Thread did seize being about Reviews long ago. But can you blame it with the course of all the events? As far as attacks well I wouldn't say so. Most of us intelligently communicated our massages except for you with your vulgar almost threatening in nature posts. So who here is the bully really? I would gladly put you in your place but the moderators are sensitive. See what I think gives you this cocky attitude is your post count. I remember when I was here and you almost had no yellow digits. Now we are all feeling high and mighty because we have five? Give me a break. Let's just leave it at this. You stated your opinion and I have stated mine. We both went a little too far but that doesn't matter now. Unless hofmae replied with "Exactly" to your reply this thread will just die off. Because if he does he will just trigger all those other repliers and perhaps even me.

Topic - Submerged Reviews!

Strange you just posted a Reply that was off Topic and yet you suddenly get the right to exclude all other off Topic Replies? See what I mean about self centered.

I simply wanted to get this thread back on topic. I will not be posting any more messages in this thread that does not relate to Submerged reviews, this thread is already far enough off topic.
And I welcome you putting me in my place, from now on, you can write me private messages, and feel free to express yourself as vulgarly as possible :) And one final thing, your comment about the post count actually made me laugh out loud, nothing could be more further from the truth. But you believe what you want to believe, which I'm certain you will, I'm finished in this thread!!

This is what children do. I work and I frankly don't have time for this. I go online maybe for an hour or two a day and do you really think I will waste my precious time on you? Stubborn people never learn.

I write and I do not have the tendency to be vulgar. I put many people like yourself in to their place without uttering a vulgarity. You on the other hand are quite fond of them.

Great bring out the champagne and let's not forget the caviar. The celebration is about to begin. Sarcastically laughs. Did you think you made a dramatic exit like a theatrical actor? Did you think I or anyone else would really care? Frankly we don't.

Submerged

Sorry i can`t find the treat so i start a new one...so move it when you think it is nesseasary.

I have seen submerged. I the illegal one.... i wanted to tell my findings....
The film is dark.... and there are only scenes with guns... no aikido at all.
I think Stevens voice is not his. i don`t know for sure.

I think he must make other movies...... Like Sean Connery does... playing a father or a wise man.....He can be a martial arts teacher he is good at that...
Why he make such films??? he can do better...

I hope he wakes up some time. Steven will stay my hero at al times but i think it is not good for his career....
Please Steven don`t make that kind of movies again... it doesn`t fit you.

Love Connie
