Well thats another story Hallarian...i can here people in here gasp in shock when i say i didnt have insurance...so looks like i will be going places on public transport or my bike...it might have been what us aussies call an "old bomb" but it was my old bomb...
but i hope the scum bags or scum bag gets caught and if that happens just pass him or them to me
No, I'm not surprised at all you didn't have insurance, Heather. On a car that old, it would probably cost more to insure than it was worth. But it was worth a lot to you, I understand! I hope the public transport isn't too out of the way for you. Fortunately, it's your spring now, as you said, so riding your bike is an option also. Still, it's just not fair that you've had to rearrange your life because of some low-life jerks. But, as we both know, life can be unfair at times, eh? Hope you're keeping your chin up the best you can, Heather. :)

......So Serena, you say this madness therapy is the clue?Well,I bet you're right.I think I'm getting better, life goes...and what's weird, things start seeming the way they're supposed to be and all the rest I had dreamed into life...Escapism?
Heck yes! :D I think a little anger does everyone some good--once in a while. ;) Gets the blood pumping, the adrenaline flowing. Almost as good as a cardiovascular workout! :D Nobody can be all sweetness and niceness all the time--not even me! ;) :D A little tartness mixed in makes for a good combo--like an apple pie! :D

Hi! Want a reminder of what you've been missing, eh?

Okay, here goes: :D

People coming in one minute after the movie starts, when you've been there for 15 minutes at least, then sitting right in front of you and being feet 6 tall or over. :D

The kid behind you kicking and bumping the back of your seat and chatting nonstop. The mother constantly shushing him--not too quietly herself, and often times more annoying than the kid. :D

Going into one of those multiplex theaters--the ones with 15-20 theaters--and finding your movie being shown in one of those itty bitty chopped off ones, with like 10 rows altogether, and everyone sitting on top of each other. And so loud you can't hear properly for days. :D

Many of those multiplex theaters NOT EVEN POPPING THEIR OWN POPCORN! Bad enough you know it's not, but to see them hauling these huge garbage bag size bags of popcorn and then dumping them into the popcorn bin. :D

Spending twice as much at the concession stand as you did for the "cheap" matinee tickets to get in. :D

Getting free refills on your pop, but having to climb over people to get out and then wait in line, walk all the way to the front of this multiplex theater--because yours is being shown in theater #20 (AKA BFE :D)--and missing 10 minutes of the movie for it. :D

So, still sad you haven't been in a while, hl-angel? ;)
Just trying to cheer you up! :D

Re: A Thank You Letter

Dear Julie,

I had a quite heated discussion one day with my Mother-in-law, who meant to tell me that I should "bring up" my Daughter the same way she brought up her Son, my Husband... at some point she told me these words, that I had never heard before since there is not really an equivalent in French...:

"Let's agree to disagree"

What a beautiful phrase...!!! A whole Peace Treaty in just 5 little words! A statement that two people can have strictly opposite views, and still come to an agreement... without rancor or resentment.
No use or need to try and persuade each other, no need or use to argue... she'll never change her mind, and I won't change mine. She still tells me what she used to do and how, I still tell her how things go in "my" Home, we simply share our experiences... Her Grand-Child is a gentle kid, and my Husband is a gentle man... Different courses ("trails"?), same finish <G>.

You know what?
Wherever we're meant to get, we'll all get there.

Your way... my way... the neighbour's way...
There are so many ways... maybe as many ways as there are people on this Earth. When we all respect the neighbour's way, we can all live in peace... while we can share exactly the same views on 99% of everything and tear each other's guts out because of the 1% difference.
We may focus on the differences, or on the similarities... it's a matter of choice.
A war that will leave nobody unharmed, or a Peace that will enrich us all...

What I wrote the other day, I wrote in my own name and because I needed to... for my own peace of mind. If I had thought it was nobody else's concern, I'd just have kept it to myself - which would have spared *me* the translation process <VBG>, and spared *others* the reading ;-)))

Now I do Thank *You*, Julie, for letting me know I did not waste my and everybody's time.
...And I am very happy it felt good for you... :)))

Wellness to you and yours
and to everybody else...

1st i'd like to thank you for reminding me why i stopped going to see films. I knew there was a reason for dvd's and video's when you have children. I have 4 and 1 on the way.
2nd i agree that in life sometimes we need to agree to disagree.
It makes life so much easier.

Wow, Heather! I hadn't heard this! Thanks. :) I just had to look this one up. It should go in the news section, but I'll put it here for now. God bless her and give her strength--she's gonna need it! :D

Twins for mum, 57
November 11, 2004

Swaddled in purple and blue blankets as they snuggled with their mother, twins Francesca and Gian St James made their world-media debut today - and slept through the whole frenzy.

As cameras from Japan, Europe and across the United States clicked and whirred inches from their tiny faces, the day-old siblings did not even gurgle, oblivious to the stir they had caused.

Fighting back emotion, their mother, Aleta St James, who turns 57 tomorrow, proudly introduced them at Mount Sinai Medical Centre. She is the sister of Guardian Angels founder and radio host Curtis Sliwa

"This is Francesca, which means 'one who loves freedom,"' said the Manhattan mother, "and this is Gian, 'miracle of God."'

Her voice cracking despite her beaming face, she said, "It doesn't feel real. Just to look at these children, they're so beautiful, it's amazing to me. I've done so many things in my life, but holding these children is the most incredible thing I have ever done."

Francesca and Gian were born by Caesarean section yesterday, making their mother the oldest US woman to give birth to twins. She had endured three years' and $33,000 worth of in-vitro fertilisation treatments before the dual miracle.

The father, an unnamed ex-boyfriend of St James', agreed to donate his sperm but will have no part in the twins' upbringing. She has seen only a brief profile of the woman who donated the eggs.

"A lot of people may think I am selfish or crazy or whatever," said St James, who entered the news conference in a wheelchair dressed in a pink bathrobe. "Well, I'm a little bit crazy," said the motivational speaker. "I've never lived in the box. I just say if you have a dream, if you put your mind to it and don't listen to other people's negativity, you can really do incredible things."

Francesca was born first, with brother Gian only a minute behind, said St James.

"I heard her cry, and I started to cry," she said. "They had their own personalities from the beginning. I know that when I am ready to die, I am leaving a great legacy here on the planet."

St James told reporters that her own grandmother was 53 when she gave birth to her mother, also named Francesca, now 80. "I never thought this was strange at all," she said.

The touching scene was almost enough to leave Curtis Sliwa speechless.

"It's their decision to make, but I'll be trying to talk Gian and Francesca out of putting on the red beret of the Guardian Angels," said the proud uncle. "It's dangerous."

Aleta St. James holds her newborn twins, Gian, right, and Francesca at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
