I have seen Crying Freeman and it´s an awesome film, Cradle to the Grave and Jet Li is really better than him.I watch a month ago one with Rutger Hauer than I don´t remember the title and it sucks.

Anyway, Crying Freeman is an impressive film

Yes, it is called The Hunt For Eagle One: Crash Point.
(or something like that)
Don't think it is listed on IMDB, but it stars Dacascos, Randle and Hauer again.

Crying Freeman was a fantastic film! The fight scene at the end of the film was spectacular, great story line as well!

While i enjoyed that movie i still prefer 'Drive'.

For me it is one of the all-time great martial arts movie. For a movie with such a low budget the action and plot are first class.

I also really like 'Only The Strong'. :)

Freeman and Brotherhood are two of my favourite action movies and they used Mark just right. It doesn't work having him play a kind of straight out tough guy, he's best as the more sensitve, vulnerable but tough hero. He does'nt have the booming voice or hge physical presence to play the kind of roles that Seagal and other guys do, yet some B movie producers have cast him in roles like that. It's a shame cause under the right direction (usually Christophe Gans) Dacascos is quite a good actor better than most Martial arts stars. I loved the musical score too in Freeman and it was also beautifully shot with an interesting story. That end sowrdfight in Freeman was choreographed by Dacascos and Gan's. Dacascos also did all his own stunts in the film. The one bit in that film that always impresses me is how he climbs on top of that door.

I'd really like to see him unleashing the martial arts and acrobatics again now, he's put it aside recently. Apprently he'll fight Lucy Liu in the Cleaner, but really want him to do a quality film again, like Freeman and Brotherhood or a good old martial arts film like Drive.

For curiosty sake you should find a copy of a movie called Dragon From Russia, it was made before Crying Freeman but it an adaptation of the same comic book, it has some good acting and really good fighting, worth seeing for comparison's sake.

Anyway, I was going through my DVDs when I came across a copy of Double Dragon, I completely forgot I had it, gonna watch it tonight or tomorrow!

Some might remember about 5 or 6 years ago Dolph Ludngren was on board to do a film called Alien Agent, that sounded quite similar in style to Dark Angel. Anyway after 3 years it still hadn't got off the ground and then Dolph had left the project behind him. Mark Dascasco was then on baord, but then it fell through again. Now it once again seems like happening. This time the filming is to startin June, produced by Kirk Shaw, and directed by Jesse Johnson, who did Pit Fighter, a recent favourite amongst martial arts movie fans. This sounds like it could be fun and finally a film to let Dacascos show of his martial arts and gymnastics again, which have been in the background since Cradle 2 The Grave.

Meanwhile Johnson has just finished doing the Last Sentinal with Don Wilson and it promises to be Don's best film, not that that is saying much. Apparently Don's representitives are keen to remarket him in the action world and are now dropping "The Dragon" from his name. Good luck Don. I wish him luck cause too many of the old school action stars are dying out.

Check out the Last Sentinal trailer here, it's got plenty of bang for the buck, by the looks of it.

Smile dammit!
dacoscos could have been as big as Seagal. He's got great ability, brilliant fluid movements on film.
Btw,is this place ever gonna bring back picture posting where you don't have to use uploaded thumbnails? It's a PITA and very offputting. It's one of the main reasons i stopped posting regularly here. Oh well..;D
That and all the political bull that was going on!

Best films:
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Crying Freeman
Drive
Only The Strong

Skills:
Kung Fu (various styles including a style invented by his father, world famous martial artist, Al Dacascos.)
Capoeira
Acrobats/gymnastics

Dacascos has talent to burn but no one has found a way to make the guy a sellable commodity, it's a travesty really.

I´m agree with you.His best films for me are that four(and in the same order too).Well, Cradle 2 the Grave too.
But his skills and charisma are not enough to fall in love with him, it´s only 5´9¨......He hasn´t the natural impressive needed things to have a flair for be a star.

Jet Li is 5' 6½" but is superb:(He eats Mark in Cradle 2 the Grave)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001472/bio

And the 6' 4" of and charisma of Dolph Lundgren are impressive enough:

No, Mark isn´t a good action choice. He has two good films plus two enjoyable. No more.

Here's the DVD cover for the new Mark Dacascos action movie entitled "Solar Attack" which streets on December 5, 2006. He seems to be churning them out just as quick as Seagal these days, following Final Approach, The Hunt for Eagle One and Crash Point.

Solar Attack was a special made for the Sci-Fi Channel, and it's just about the most awful piece of garbage ever made.
