>>>Let's say I'm a recovering fan. Like an alcoholic who knows that next drink is no good for him, I know Seagal's next movie will suck, however, I see that DVD on the shelf, and I just can't help it, i succumb. Then later, I hate myself. He's syealing money right now.

What I met was WHY did you join this site????? You are not a fan. You joined to cause disruption. Webster's definition of the word FAN-1)an enthusiastic follower of a sport or entertainment. 2) an enthusiastic admirer(as of an athlete or movie star)[probably short for FANATIC]. From your few posts, you don't fit the definition.

If you can't say something nice about a person, you should say nothing at all.
What goes around, comes around. (Just thank, :') tomorrow you may be the fat **s!!!)

Seagal isn't past it yet and he's not quite the zen grandfather yet. Maybe in a few years we'll see Karate Kid 4, retitled as Aikido Kid, with Seagal in the Miyagi role, but I think he still has some ass kicking to offer. There's little excuse for him to not be doing his own fights at his age. Harrison Ford is 63, and still does a lot of stunt work himself. Stallone is coming up 60 and has just donned his gloves for a massive fight in Rocky 6. I know that those guys are in much better shape than Seagal, but surely he must be able to do more.

As for watching Seagal for his acting, that isn't exactly riviting. The guy at best isn't a great actor and his best performances are still in his older films. Nowadays he doesn't even muster more than a wooden whisper and looks totally bored. It's even a bonus if he performs all his own dialogue.

It's not simply Seagal's standard of movie that annoys some of us, and we are genuine fans who have a right to want a minimum standard, it's the fact that he gets double for his fights, he uses stand in's for shots, he doesn't act anymore he merely appears. Now I could forgive the overwieght thing, that's not a problem cause I enjoy wathcing Sammo Hung who still does the business. What I can't forgive is laziness. It owuld also help if instead of doing 5 or 6 movies a year which are mostly dreadful, average at best, he should do a couple and perhaps the participation in them and the quality might improve. It still annoys me seeing him double so much, even in that Orange ad he had a stand in.

I have to agree with the original poster on this one. At 5 million a film, the least Seagal could do is put some effort in. He at least needs to find prjects that enthuse him a bit more. Into The Sun was actually okay, because Seagal clearly wanted to be there and he did most of his fighting. Fingers crossed he films in Japan again.

Of course I won;t be dumping my Seagal allegience if he does a few more stinkers, I'll carry on watching whatever he churns out, although that may be via downloading rather than renting or purchasing, but I won't stop. If I had thatr sort of attitude I'd have given up being and Aston Villa fan a long time ago!
why rant and rave to us about your dislikings of Steven Seagal?
don't be afraid to say something good about Steven Seagal, you can do it!

Ditto that Don - everyone ages, everyone grows wider unless they have always been straight up and down like a dunkhouse door all their lives.
Perhaps some of the younger men on this site are afraid of their own future.
I'm comfortable with myself and so is Steven - he explores different themes which makes his films more interesting. Maybe they just don't understand his messages. I may joke about how sexy Steven is, but I look at the "whole" of him, not just his body.

His eyes in Suzi's new signature pic are quite hypnotic. Don't think there is another actor with those sort of eyes. Mmmmm...

the impression i got of the director of black dawn was that he was very unprofessional and seemed drunk doing the making of. one can sympathise with SS because he doesnt know whats going to happen with the blue screens and the effects nor does he know the director will tack in some disgusting stairwell scene with his stunt double. i dont know if you know but Andrew Stevens who produced [the security guard] is actually a former soft porn star who starred in and produced many soft porn movies in the 90's which soft porn queen Shannon Tweed. Sort of explains a lot!

Disgruntled fan!
There's nothing wrong with Shannon Tweed movies (muhahahaha!). You'll be telling me next there's something wrong with watching Joan Severence movies too.
