... I just recently got that special edition dvd of Enter the Dragon ... gotta watch it still ... one day left to school :D Pressure! :D

Oh I have that too, the special scenes are awesome! And the color and quality looks like the film was made in 2005.

"I thought you didn't care for sci-fi movies."

You're absolutely right, Serena, and you're not confused at all! :D But Pitch Black was something I really enjoyed watching ... go figure. Space travel is fascinating to me. So I like those kinds of movies (i.e. Soldier).

"Most people I know didn't like Pitch Black --or Steven's The Patriot."

Well, I liked both. :)

Great LittleD! I'm looking forward to watching it.

I'll be watching the Chronicles of Riddick tonight. I liked Pitch Black.
i agree. I didn't like the scenario and the casting but riddick is such a man. I loved his eyes (of course) :D. I hadn't the chance yet to watch the chronicles. Is the story better than Pitch black?

I ended up not watching it! :( I played on this forum wayyyy too long last night, then had to go to work, so I dropped it off. I wish I had all the money back I've spent on rentals and then ended up not watching them. I wish this forum wasn't so addicting. :D

Poor girl. You know, when you rent a dvd, you should first check if it's recordable on tape. If it's the case, do like me, just copy the dvd. That's a way not to waste too much money. Last time i rent 2 dvds. But the 1st one was so long that i was falling asleep but as i was recording the dvds, i could watch the 2 dvds later (after having brought back the dvds to the store). Especially, i almost watched all the 1st movie but for the second i slept all the movie :D

That's a great idea, Pantera, but how are you doing that? Are you recording from a DVD to a VCR? I'd be interested as to how you're doing that. I have a combo DVD/VCR player, but was told by someone that it could not record one onto the other. Now I'm wondering if that person was wrong. :D

Let me know, please. You might be able to save me some money in late fees. :D

Interestingly, though, the Blockbuster video chain has just started advertising that they are no longer charging late fees. I have a membership, but don't use it. Maybe I will now. :D

I can't help you 'cos' i don't know how it can works with a combo dvd/vcr. I've got a dvd player and a vcr.In this case, you must plug the dvd player directly in the vcr (not in the tv). About the vcr, you plug it into the tv. Normaly, yo won't be able to watch a dvd without using the vcr. But in this case, when you watch a dvd, to record it on tape, you just have to press the button record of your vcr. If the dvd is protected, you'll see it right away, 'cos' as soon as you press the record button, the color of you image change every 5 seconds. So if you see the image clearly, it means that the dvd is not protected.
For a combo dvd/vcr, it must be possible. Normally, you should be able to choose a channel on you vcr. The vcr has 2 maybe more auxiliary programm/channel. So try to play a dvd, at the same time, put a tape in the vcr, record and at the same time, change the programm of the vcr 'til you see the image of the dvd movie. I don't know if my explainations are clear. Maybe someone else can be clearer 'cos' english is not my mother tongue. The best thing to do is try. You can also ask someone from hi/fi shop.
I hope what i say will be useful for you.
An advice: it's better to have a dvd player separated from the vcr player 'cos' with combo, if one element is broken, everything is broken.

Thanks, Pantera! I understood you just fine. :) I have other VCRs in the house I could hook up to the DVD player, but I don't think it's possible to record from combo DVD/VCR on each other because there's only one "play" and one "record" button, and you can only press one at a time.

Yes, eventually I will get a separate DVD player, but I got this about 3 years ago as my nephews still have a lot of kids' movies on videotapes and I wanted the ability to still play those. But since then I've bought two other small VCR/TV combos that were quite cheap. So maybe, like i said, I could hook one of those up to the DVD player.

I already can record from video to video by using the two small combo TV/VCRs.

This technology is soooo over my head.
But I am learning, little by little. :D

Thanks for your help, Pantera! :)

I love that film!! Many people trash it simply because they don't understand the message. Great film and my favorite Prince album of the 90's!

I must say it is a little hard to understand fully at first but that doesnt take away the great music scenes. It's possibly my fave prince film. But its not my fav prince album of the 90's that would go to diamonds and pearls!

Cool, I love Diamonds & Pearls but I don't think it is the best because the album was mainly focused to make hit songs instead of the creative genious songs Prince has made, the album was just targeted to put Prince back in the commercial spotlight and back on the charts which it indeed did.

But my favorite Prince film without a doubt has to be Purple Rain!

;)

I think if i really had to choose 1 it would end up being purple rain.

I agree with you on that. Although artistically Sign O' The Times is the most creative and most artistically genious Prince/one of the greatest albums of all time.
