What's on My Mind?

The victim's of Hurricane Katrina!
Even here in Arkansas, our hotels
are filled to capacity with people
from Louisiana and Mississippi.

Tonight, I am grateful for all that
I have. A loving husband, a nice
roof over my head and plenty to eat.
Sometimes, we all need a reminder
just how lucky we are.
God Bless all those that are in need.

A local radio station and several
churches are organizing an effort
to send clothing and food to those
affected by the disaster.

Oh, and one more important thing I
am grateful for.....MY FRIENDS! ;)

This was lovely, Kat. :) You have such a beautiful soul, and I'm grateful we're friends. You have a simple, yet elegant way of bringing the important things in life to the forefront.

Individual units at the hospital last night already started taking contributions that we will donate to the Red Cross. There are even a few young nurses who were headed down there, bless their generous hearts. Since they couldn't fly in, they were going to drive as far as they could and then volunteer their services in whatever way possible. I always say there are more good people in the world than bad, and people like this are why!

True i have been following the news about "Katrina" and iam so sorry that its caused so much tragedy and pain...but no one can argue with Mother Nature because we are always going to loose....I agree with an freind of mine those people whom are louting peoples homes and stores should be shot on site...dont they normally bring in the army to handle these pricks...one black guy said he held onto his wife as long as he could but she said look after the kids and grandkids and she was gone you never know she might be found alive.....lets hope that alot of loved ones will be found alive..

Just a little Blue

Woke up this morning with the blues all in my bed Yes, I woke up this morning with the blues all in my bed Fixed my breakfast, the blues was all in my bread Very thoughtful kat, although not surprising. You're a sincere person; as such, we all are here. This gives us a place to come, and 'get things off our minds, and shoulders'. We all have problems, but when you just take a look around at how others might have to live, and I don't mean just in Third World Countries, I mean right here amongst me, in the great US of A!~ I am thankful too, even though I am an unemployed, and have been for six months, struggling just for food:eek: , much less gas. Now on foodstamps, thank God for the Government, sometimes. I have a great husband of 31 years, and we have a tiny little matchbox apartment that we share with two precious kitties, Smokey Joe & Miss Juliet. There's no place I'd rather be.

Good Friends

I thank God for "Good Friends." They know you and love you just the same. "Good friends" are there for always.

One girlfriend came over to my house and gave me a mug with a lid/saucer that read "Good Friends are forever."
Some friends may only stick by you for a season but they are never far from my thoughts and my prayers. I will love them for always.
For always a friend,
Love,
Julie

GOOD FRIENDS

Storm clouds may arise,
and you don't know what to do.
You feel like no one hears your cries,
But Jesus is there for you.
If you need a good friend by your side,
As Jesus is, I am too.
