Classic, cult horror from the Italian master.

This is worth sticking with if you can put up with the weirdness of it all!It doesn't get a rating of 7.2 for nothing. The kind of horror film you will either love or hate, really.

This film was also a big influence on John Carpenter for his first flick Halloween.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I am also a lover of fine horror cinema, and I feel that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the best horror film of all time. I enjoy plenty of Hitchcock, and the films with Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, etc, but TCM beats them all for its creepiness, violence, gore, style, weirdness, and scariness.

What are some more obscure horror films that you've seen that are worth watching?

Interesting that some of mine are characterized as "horror". No sure what other category they'd fit in, though. I don't care for "gore" that much, though. There should be a separate category for "gory movies". :D

Some of mine, in no particular order:

- The Sixth Sense, one of my favorites.
- The Thing, with Kurt Russell
- Predator
- Silence of the Lambs
- Halloween, the original
- The Birds
- The Shining
- The Mummy, with Brendan Fraser, though I consider it more action/adventure.
- Aliens, all three.

- From Dusk til Dawn, one of those good/bad movies. :D
- They Live, with WWF guy "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, another good/bad one. :D
- The Others
- Thirteen Ghosts
- The Tremors :D LOVE this tongue-in-cheek one.
- The Prophecy. Christopher Walken--one deliciously weird dude, or what? :D

I'm not a horror film fan so I can't really say which one is the best or my favourite

... but I liked that Scream series...

My favorite scary movies of all time is all the Halloween movies. That mask just tears my nerves up man. This is hilarious... My husabnd and I love to go with friends to haunted houses, trails, etc every year for Halloween. We went to this one last year it was a mill. Well it was all dark of course, we turned a corner and right there..not moving, just standing so quiet and still, in that small corner was no one but Michael Myers. I fell on my knees covered my head and face and broke into tears. It scared me so bad. My husband had to pick me up. You know if it was real I would have been dead that second. It startled me so bad I couldn't run. I just fell. We all had a good laugh afterwards, but at the time I about had a heart attack.
Yeah I'm a little wuss when it comes to scary movies, even when they aren't all that scary. It's the suspense that gets to me. I can't watch them alone and when I'm watching them my hubby has to be right beside of me.
No matter how bad a scry movie is it is guaranteed to scare me. Some are worse than others though..A few are 13 Ghosts, Ghost Ship, What's that new one where the killer/scary person was a tooth fairy, but then something happened and she went crazy. That was a good one.
As a matter of fact I rented Exorcist last night because I was little when it first came out, and I can't remember it that well. My huband and I are going to watch it when he gets home from work. When it's daylight!!!!

Oh i have loads of horror movies.I must have around 4-500 including dvd and videos of all types, not just horror.
Here are a few i like...
Day Of The Dead, best of the series i think..
It seems the cast were mightily sick with the smell of pig's entrails used in the movie.
day%20of%20the%20dead.jpg

The Entity. A woman is assaulted in all manners by an invisible force. Absolutely terrifying,as she seemed unable to stop it or work out why her..
THE%20ENTITY.jpg

Nightmare On Elm St. I remember the screams in theatres at what seemed a new sort of horror,a maniac who really enjoyed his work though that is nothing new:D. The girl i was with kept hiding her face in her hands. Makes you wonder why the watch it,heh.
