Just curious all, when was it that you personally became a Steven Seagal fan?
When did you first notice "the big guy?"
I became a fan the very moment I laid eyes on him, and the first time I ever noticed him was in a "Nico" movie preview when I was in Egypt...
And oh after seeing him just once, I was really anticipating that movie, and was totally impressed by him...
Of course I always am, even more nowadays as you know too well...
He's always so unique and awesome for me...
How about you?
What's the story behind your Seagal experience?
Please, do tell...
Enquiring minds wanna know...:D

I wasn't actually aware of Seagal untill I watched Seagal in Mrked For Death that my brother's friend had recorded from cable tv!I was hooked ever since.I think I must've played the tape back around 5times in a row!!!I just remember thinking this guy was so damn cool!!The rest is history.

Yes, I watched that one lastnight (MFD) he was just awesome...
My father really enjoyed the movie too, it's been a long time since we've
watched it, because I prefer watching the current Seagal, of course...:)
That was then, and this is now...
But he's always is so amazing, however in MFD, he's extra, extra, brutal!
Even the things he says, make you cringe, LOL!
Oh, and in OFJ as well, eeeeeeeeeek!
I think the male fans really like those really ruthless fights...
I dunno why I do really, being a woman and all...
I guess it's just because he seems so tough and exciting, and powerful and untouchable...
It's really all verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry attractive....

About ten years ago a group of friends would get together once a week or so at each other's house and we'd take turns bringing a different action video. It always had to be action. For some reason, without knowing who he was, just by reading the video, I picked Under Siege. The whole group (especially the guys) went crazy. We all loved it. Been hooked ever since. :)

Yes, indeed, Serena...
Under Seige was/is really something, and it did so phenomenally well, too...
One of the most memorable parts for me is that great smile he gives us from the galley, oh my, I like so much when he smiles...:)
That was one that I was lucky enough to watch a the theater several times...:)

I remember it well. I was ten, going through the newspaper, looking at the entertainment section, seeing what opened on Thursday (which is the day most films open in Australia -- strange, I know) and I noticed this really dark ad for a movie called NICO -- the headline: He is a cop who believes no one is above the law. Beside the writing was Seagal's face with the 45 beside it. It looked really cool. I have since bought this poster

Seeing how I was a really big movie fan by then I read the credits, seeing Code of Silence director Andrew Davis helmed the picture.I knew then the movie was gonna be great. Unfortunately, since I was ten, and Nico was rated R (Restricted to adults 18 years and over) I had to wait six to seven months to see the movie on video. I wasn't disappointed, the only thing that disappointed me was that it took almost two years for Seagal to put out another picture. So there you have it.

I was going through an extremely bad patch early last year, unemployed, on welfare. TBS Superstation was running three Steven Seagal movies over one weekend, and I caught Glimmer Man and Hard to Kill (missed ATL, somehow). I then went to the video store to rent more - there weren't that many titles there, though, but I had 5 "freebies" and used them all up on what they had. I think I must have run Under Seige 2 about a dozen times over the five day rental... :D.

Being able to kick ass vicariously made me feel so much better, given the circumstances I was in at the time.... :D

-TD, soft and fluffy and extremely unlikely to kick anyone's ass herself (or so she avers, with the most innocent look on her face)

I saw "Above the Law" and I was a fan too like Trinity!!
I watched this film with my mom and she was very sick in those days. When we saw him with white dressess in the church with Stone and we loved. My mother always loved him and watched every films. I am sure if she lived she would like him all films including OFAK,BOTB,HPD,TF. !!

Nico

Around ten years ago, when I first caught Nico and Hard to Kill screening uncut on cable here in England where they were always the most popular films screened on the channel which showed them. Sadly now whenever they're shown on cable they have been replaced with versions which edit out all the bone-crunching. Grrr. Oh well, after then I got really interested in his films and promptly saw Marked for Death, Out for Justice and the rest pretty much in order of their release I think. Sadly I've only been able to see one of them, Exit Wounds on the big screen. But hopefully I'll get another chance to see one up their when Into The Sun/Yakuza comes out ;-).

Steven Seagal Fan
Heather they had 3 movies on TNT yesterday. I watched OFJ, The Patriot, and FDB.
FDB is the first movie that I saw him in and that was when I became a big fan of his. That is when I looked for other movies that Steven did and ran right out to rent them. I think at that time I rented all the ones he did before FDB. I sat there and watched one after another.

Exit Wounds

Hi Heather yes I love it too myself, it was brilliant on the big screen, I watched Exit Wounds at the cinema just a few days before it finished showing so I just made it! My own personal fave is the shot where he has the chain wrapped around his hand and swings it at the camera - you just wouldn't wanna mess with him!

On Deadly Ground. First Seagal movie that I ever saw, and the one that sparked the allure, so to speak. There is no "I" in "Team." That line gets me every *sniff sniff* time. Oh god, I need a Kleenex.

I was a big fan of Clint Eastwood and his Dirty Harry films and he was starting to move on to other movies and I never thought that I would find a star to take the place of Clint for me until one day when i picked up Above the Law in a video store back in 89. I did'nt know much about him but had seen various martial arts magazines that talked about this westerner that had made a big name for himself in Japan training with the masters and becoming well known in the Orient..
To make a long story short; Seagal made me completely forget about Clint and it was a smooth transition from one big action star to the next..His screen presence was unbelievable and he was one bad mother on the screen that no one would want to mess with on or off screen..I've been his biggest fan ever since and have all of his movies and just about every magazine around the world that he has been on the cover of and all of his movie posters from the US and quite a few from other countries around the world..
His screen presence sets him apart from all other martial arts stars and he has a big following in the Bahamas, especially after Marked for Death..He has been over here a few times and was here right after Above the Law but I have yet to see him in person..

Well,I was in a deep depression back then in 1997 and lost all interest for life not having any friends and not seeing any light in the end of the tunnel. But it was January 9 of that year I happened to sit by the tv when Under Siege started and I saw that damn cook, then I couldn't just get his image out of my mind and in 3 days they showed Under Siege 2...Damn since then my life took another turn and I haven't looked back since...and where I am now I'm very thankful to this man he has brought me here.
