who here smokes? (not weed)

I smoked for a number of years. But even when I did smoke, being in a smoke-filled room or bar always choked me. Fortunately I quit the first time I tried, really without any bad cravings or withdrawal symptoms, and have not gone back--though I had vivid dreams for a year of actually inhaling cigarette smoke. :D

It is really hard to quit smoking Serena. I admire the strength and the discipline you have. :)

Thanks, Littledragon! :) That's probably one of the best things I ever did for myself.
Now if I could just work on the rest of my bad habits. :rolleyes: :D

Oh and since we're on the subject, who here drinks? Any milk drinkers? I love water. You can make so many kinds of drinks out of water. It's a great invention. Thank you, God. :D

Anyways, back on topic, I don't take baths. :D (oh yeah and I don't smoke either) :D

Well I admitted I smoke, but I am very courteous and respect the wishes of others who don't!!
But this doesn't make me less of a person for smoking and doesn't make anyone else a better person for not smoking!! To each his own, and I can promise no one on this forum will breath in my second hand smoke!!

They probably don't make the person feel fantastic. But my point stands, Serena. I just do not understand what was going through the person's mind when deciding on creating this thread. Please, enlighten me on this one if you can because I just cannot see how one can come to a forum such as this one and pose such a question for a whole thread to dwell on. Why does it matter who smokes? The whole explanation for this thread made it sound like a promotion for smoking. If it was something like, "how can I quit" or "advice on dropping a habit," that would be much more understandable.

I think it was merely a friendly attempt to strike up a conversation and get people to interact with each other, which is sadly lacking on this site at times, except between the same few people. There doesn't have to be a deeper meaning than that. It's in the Off Topic forum, which is exactly where it belongs. Off Topic is for discussions of anything and everything outside of Steven Seagal, based on the thread-starter's preference. I too have had many threads fail that I thought would be interesting or strike up an interest. It's not such a great feeling to get no responses or such negative ones as these.

The very first post of this thread I took as promotion for smoking (e.g. questioning cigarette branding). That is the only reason for my previous comments.

What if I just make a thread titled: "What kind of car do you drive when you drink?" Would that be appropriate? I just plain and simple do not care if it is to strike up a conversation or what. It just shows lack of control as far as I see it.

yes its in the off topic thats where i inteded it to be...if you think the threads stupid just dont post in it...it has gotten quite a few reply's as smoking always an interesting discussion

I like to keep my lungs pink...I have never had any interest in smoking. When I go to weddings or whatever and the building is poorly ventilation I get itchy burning eyes. Someone has to pry my eyes open to put visene into them. My husband reacts the same way. We both end up caughing up mucus for days after and rub our eyes or put visene in.
