Foreigner and Belly of the Beast up for Best Direct to Video Movie

I thought 'In Hell' was pretty good, it got quite a few decent reviews from various sources too.

I prefer 'Out For A Kill' more than 'The Foreigner'. I wonder why it got on the list.

I think Belly should win, without doubt the best action film in recent memory, but in regards to Half Past Dead vs In Hell, calling one better than the other is like comparing pizza to cake. They're totally different movies about totally different things.

Half Past Dead was supposed to be this fun action movie "a ride" as Don Michael Paul caled it, while In Hell was "a dark character piece" -Van Damme's words.

Both films are different, although Columbia TriStar undoubtedly marketed them at the same people.

We're not talkin about Exit Wounds, we're talkin about Half Past Dead. I liked Exit Wounds a lot cause of Anthony Anderson, Isaiah Washington, Tom Arnold. The ending of Exit Wounds while the credits are rollin with Anthony & Tom talkin s**t was hilarious LOL.

You're right I did say Exit Wounds, when I should have said Half Past Dead!
Half Past Dead or Exit Wounds, both are very good films. I enjoyed both!

If Stevens not romantic how did he get six kids?, he has some obligation as a master to protect his image regarding sex scenes. He still has to be aware there are young people watching him.

As a woman I beg to differ he has that charisma that is so rare, he just put his hand (bear paw) on my shoulder and I felt that to my ankle it was like pins and needles he might have touched a nerve knowing him but nobody else has done that he's truly magnetic.

I still find him romantic no matter what size, has great manners and for the record Sammo Hung is still bigger than steven and he can tear you up too wouldnt judge by size.. but skill no way would I mess with a 7th Dan glad I'm a woman!

But I am sure he didn't know Moinca Lo that well, so it was probably a little nerve wracking to do those scenes...
They were great, I adored them, but he did seem a tad shy, which is very charming in my opinion...

Ok look I don't want to start a whole argument since everyone is entitled to an opinion. Half Past Dead was not a good movie. I understand that people on this MB love Steven, but that was a terrible film. Action wise he was doubled for everything, I am not saying Van Damme did everything in In Hell but at least a third of his actions. Yes, In Hell is not a new theme and we had tons of films like that. I also know that In Hell is a dark film and not for everyone’s taste, and that’s why they prefer a lighter film(HPD). But if you compare the two actors it's obvious that one is acting, and the other is going through the emotions.

I am a fan of Steven's, but I am also down to earth and don't have to like every single film he makes.

Neither of Seagal's films deserve to win that award. In Hell does, due to the simple fact that it's a quality film. Meanwhile Half Past Dead was terrible, Belly was worse. And I say that with no bias, after all I was never a huge Van Damme fan (though he's done some decent films and is pretty likeable) and was always a Seagal fan.

I have to say I love Exit Wounds, Half Past Dead, The Foreigner, Belly of the Beast and In Hell. They're all great films in their own way. I don't think there was anything wrong with Ja Rule in Half Past Dead, his character and personality interacted very well with Sasha's and he fit well into the role. For some reason some people just can't stand seeing rap stars having a stab at the movies. I reall loved Belly of the Beast I can't get over how great those fight scenes were, I especially love the one in the fruit market, especially the part where he repeated slaps one guy in the head over and over and it goes really well with the music! You'll know the part I mean when you see the scene.

Thanks for seeing my points I guess the other members didn’t quite agree with or understand my views for that matter.

While we are on this topic, I would like to address another issue. Another member brought this to my attention, and I think it’s quite important. I understand that Female members of this MB adore Steven, but does every single topic have to end with “we love Steven”. It’s just that most Female users have up to at least 100 or more posts, and half of those are about Stevens looks.. etc I think most of us get the message by now, and you don’t have to go to such great length to keep reminding everyone.

Not to put on the spot Disciple, but I am quite sure that you can sees the point I am trying to make. Maybe there should be “I Love You Steven” Forum, but the messages would just be repetitive and going nowhere.

I do see your point. The "I love Steven" messages were quite cute and amusing at first, but they're getting kind of borderline creepy now in my opinion (no offense to anyone). There's being a fan, and then there's being a stalker.

Whatever the case, there is a time and a place for that sort of message. And I think there is something seriously wrong when we can't discuss a completely unrelated issue without it degenerating into Playgirl fantasies.
