Steven Seagal Asking $3 Million For Ranch With Organic Farmland
April 9, 2006
Actor Steven Seagal has listed a 995-acre northern California ranch, which includes organic farmland for his topical-oils business, for $3 million.
Seagal, 53, who has produced and starred in action films such as "Under Siege" and "Exit Wounds," bought Diamond Lotus Ranch in 1999 for about $1 million, according to co-listing agent Don Rickey.
The property, in Siskiyou County, is just a couple of miles from a large ranch where Seagal has a home.
At Diamond Lotus, Seagal's business grows and processes herbs such as lavender, thyme and helichrysum.
Then Diamond Lotus Essentials sells the health-and-beauty oils online and in health stores and spas.
Manager Don Cameron says the ranch has a drip-irrigation system for the 180 acres of herbs, a distillation-production site for the oils (including a steel building, distillation units and boilers), 450 acres of oats and wheat, and three houses that have been occupied by Cameron and his workers.
An 1,800-acre ranch near Seagal's sold last year for $3.2 million, Rickey says.
Through a representative, Seagal - who's in Bucharest, Romania, shooting an action film - declined to comment on the listing.
