What's it take to be a Steven Seagal fan?

If we're talking about his later DTV films, I like Steven Seagal movies where he appears to be totally committed to the film. The ones I like least are those which involve a lot of post-production tampering as well as dubbing and the use of body doubles to 'complete' his performance. I know of no other actor who doesn't do his own dialogue looping in post-production, and it would certainly be off-putting to a general audience when they see a Seagal film like Attack Force or Submerged where his voice keeps changing for no apparent reason. If I wasn't a fan, I'd be scratching my head and probably not want to check out any more of his films.

As for what I like, I prefer to see a film like Urban Justice, Pistol Whipped and Driven To Kill where he shows a greater committment to the film he's in. The former two films are certainly a return to the Seagal of old where he puts in more effort and delivers a more pleasing performance as well as doing his own action scenes. When I see something like Kill Switch where a double is brought in to flesh out an action scene, I find it hugely disappointing.

Presently, I'm in awe of Steven Seagal's neverending assembly line of films every year

Most of his DTV films have been disappointments to me with the exceptions of Belly Of The Beast, Into The Sun, Urban Justice, Pistol Whipped, Against The Dark (to be fair, that's not really a Seagal film), Driven To Kill, The Keeper and A Dangerous Man. The rest of them range from mediocre to very poor. I'm still amazed that garbage like Attack Force was even considered okay to be released. Can you imagine an ordinary joe sitting down to watch that and what their reaction would be?! Seagal films are generally more forgiving as we are aware of the constant dubbing and use of body doubles but to the average DVD renter, I can well imagine how annoyed they would be to have paid to see a shoddy film like this.

As for cinema releases, the only ones I really don't like are The Patriot and Half Past Dead. There's hardly any decent Seagal action in them, and in the latter Steven looks like he's sleepwalking through it.

Whats it take to be an seagal fan? alot of hard work sometimes but i guess thats what happens when you are committed to som ething or some one ..every one has there reasons .. each fan is different be boring if we were not..

I am not his fan, I told him as well, let's say rather an outsider-observer. Fan is abbreviation of fanatic; I like a few films of him, but not all, I like his music, and that he turns towards the music, I like his personality and his buddhist site as I am spiritual, healer and I appreciate these values. Martial arts are great as well. Even if am an outsider, still am not insensible with dishonest, untrue etc manifestations about him (or whoever) and then I give my voice...
For example a website dedicated to MrSS shouldn't be the first with publishing rumours acting as a paparazzi...great difference

I guess if Ms Jones doesn't know anything about the author of the website, she should not make assumptions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that website is well done, and the author researches everything, and strives to be honest with what she writes. No, she is NOT the paparazzi, and is not acting in that capacity. Plus, how do we know for sure they are rumors? I hope they are, but the news was splashed all over the Internet for anyone to read, and since it is her website, and she tries to bring the latest news, a very small comment was not out of order.
