Maximum Conviction

What I dont like about maximum conviction, is seagal in the same movie as such a big name as steve austin. seagal propably wont have that much screentime, and if austin was not in the film seagal would have had more screentime. another thing is that i think austin should have played the bad guy. It would have been a great showdown with a fightscene between him and seagal in the end of the film.

Austin is not a big name in the movie world. But yeah, he is a well-known name deffenetly.
I was thinking that Manning (Austin) might betray Steele (Seagal) and that way they can have their showdown :) We will find out when we see the movie ;)

What? Seagal is a much bigger name than Austin!!

austin at his peak had millions of fans and was pop culture icon.seagal was never as popular or famous as austin was in late 90s/early 00s...am not a pro wrestling fan now but if am not wrong austin is the man that made wrestling cool and famous again..at his peak he was everywhere on rolling magazine on cover of entertainment weekly magazines bodybuilding magazines on tv shows he was almost everywhere..also he as sold more merchandise than any sports figure..i have watched a few videos of austin on you tube the arena used to shake when he appeared...he was one of the most recognized people on the planet..seagal was just never that big

Excuse me?? Solely in the movie world??? If Seagal wasn't as big as or even bigger than Austin why's Austin co-starring in Chief Seagal's upcoming film?

raheel1 i forgot its good 2 meet u :) . I believe we gonna have to wait until MC is released on dvd or at a box-office theater to discover who gets the most screen time. I don't disagree with u there Raheel1, Stone Cold Steve Austin may get more screen time. However, even with less screen time the more convincing self-defense skills and fighting performances and antics will be from Steven Seagal's movie character in Maximum Conviction. And I know you won't disagree with me there! Seagal's real life experiences in hand to hand combat dominates all other actors on the planet. It's been proven time and time again by Sensei Steven Seagal in all of his films past to present that his fighting prowess is much more interesting and entertaining than the action stars of today's cinema in my opinion. No disrespect nor pun intended to your replies .

I wasa bit wrestling fan for years, until about 2 years ago. I know all about austin. He was huge in the wrestling world. But Seagal was huge in the movie world, even if his peak was only from about '92-5. The movie world is hugely more popular than the wrestling world. And it was even in the attitude era.

You are right the movie world is bigger but if you grew up in the late 90s or early 00s you would know what am talking about....Austin used to be the shit back then..he had 10 million people watching Raw every week..Seagal is famous but he rarely ppears on chat shows or magazine covers...I based my assumption on austins mainstream chat show appearances and fan following

I feel it is a bit like comparing oranges and apples. Austin is famous for his wrestling and not for his acting performances. Seagal is known for his action, not for his acting capabilities for in depth characters.

And austin is mainly known in the US and not so much in the rest of the world.

Given the names and careers of all involved I personally don't havevery high expectations for MC. It probably will be entertaining carry quite a bit of action, but I don't think it has enough appeal to make it to cinemas. Perhaps a limited release inthe US, but abroad it most definitly will be a dtv release.

Hope to see a trailer coming month, perhaps then we can say more.

Peace

it's like i always say, "if Seagal goes dtv. then he goes dvd" Or, in the famous words of Colonel Austen Travis would order, "THAT'S IT!"

I think someone mentioned there would be a trailer in February? So let's just wait and see. Stallone's film "Bullet in the head" I think was completed before "Maximum Conviction" was even announced and doesn't have a trailer yet so it's not too bad.

Again, I don't care if this film gets a theatrical release, DVD or VHS. I just hope for a solid film.

Yeah I just hope the attention was for the right reason. Not like the "Chuck Norris facts" which raised attention to Norris for the wrong reason. I've only heard people responding to Lawman for the unintentional comedic factor which is disappointing. I don't exactly consider "Lawman" award winning viewing but its interesting to watch from the perspective of Seagal.
