This was quite a remarkable find, Suzi! Excellent job, my friend.

I loved the phrase "voiceless men of honor". Though I'm not sure how the proceeds from this will go "directly towards dismantling nuclear weapons", it's certainly an admirable effort. Very interesting indeed, Suzi! Thank you so much.

Suzi - I'm not sure if you've noticed this, but that's actually a composite photograph - the photo has been faked. Steven is out of proportion in size to the two monks - there's no way he's smaller than they are (yes I know he's sitting down - but look at the proportional dimensions of head and body). He's not actually in the photo with them, the photo has been taken separately, clipped and inserted (you can just about see the clipping path around him, especially when the photo is cleaned up and enlarged).

Well, I can't watch the movie clip because it's QuickTime and QuickTime and my PC just don't get along (maybe I'll shift over to the Apple and watch it there).

But having the faked photograph - I mean, really, how serious is he about this that the best he can do is send photo of himself to the group and let the group Photoshop him into the picture? The photo is a lie, though they are claiming he actually posed with the two monks. What else is a lie, I wonder?

Here is some more info on the walk itself, which is what this is all about anyway.

This epic walk for humanity begins on the northern walkway between Pier 35 and world famous Pier 39, with the Tall Ship Nippon Maru as the back drop. The Japanese community from throughout California will be present, together with people from all over the world who will send off the Monks by walking together with them from Pier 39 to SBC Park. After which, the main caravan of motor homes, walkers, and monks will travel through 250 communities that will carry the “Atomic Flame” together with the Monks for a short distance, to share this historic experience with hundreds of peace-walkers from all over the world as they journey to the Trinity Site. The walk is being filmed and will be shown throughout the world as part of a two-hour global television special.

The video's a fake as well (I wanted to view it a couple of times, but it crashes the computer if you try to replay the video). It is him talking and that is his photograph, but he's been composited in with the monks. Nice job, though; almost expertly done.

I think the whole thing is a scam, and he's been duped into believing it's a real thing. A faked photograph, a composited video - too many lies and too much fakery going on here. I don't like it.

It does, Heather. It would be interesting to see the monks mingling with the walkers in the different areas, and to see the people from all over the world, as the site said, who will send off the Monks by walking together with them from Pier 39 to SBC Park. I'm sure the two-hour documentary will show the best highlights from the month-long walk. A special to watch for. I'll have to be sure to get all my VCRs ready again.

Or they would not have dared released it in America with Steven being an American he would damn sure sue like all true blue American's would do!! It is taught in school "When to Sue 101"

Then they should have posted a photo just of him, and not tried to fake the one with the monks, claiming that he's posing with them when clearly he's not. How does a faked photo lend legitimacy to their cause, if in fact the cause is real and just? To me, it sets off alarm bells. One lie, two lies - the second being the faked video - how many more?

Anyway, he clearly supports this scam (as if the general public had any control over nuclear disarmament, which they don't), so I guess I'll just have to blindly throw in my support of him for doing so, and hope I don't get burned.
