LOL YUD! I'm sure you noticed lots of mistakes then, I don't think Joel Silver is the best director or even close to best director around. He made many mistakes in Exit Wounds, but he is a zillion times better then the whoo haas Seagal is working with lately.

Actually, I wouldn't say that there were many mistakes at all in Exit Wounds!

... and by the way, Joel Silver is a producer, not a director.

During the car chase scene there where several shots where you could tell it was clearly not Detroit. They drove by a Tim Hortons for god sakes.
Believe it or not, we do have Tim Hortons in Michigan.. :D

Yeah... that shot in front of Metro Hall with the oh-so-distinctive Roy Thomson Hall right behind kind of gave things away... not to mention the street car tracks on Queen Street seen as they were driving past the Armoury!

Wow, that's news to me. Do you like it?

Well, I don't really care for donuts (sorry, yudansha :D), but they have a great deli-style ham and cheese--sliced real thin and piled high--on a yummy homemade wheat roll, or other homemade rolls. :) Pretty good chicken salad sandwich, also.

Thanks, Serena. Maybe I will be brave enough to try a sandwhich there...

Do try it, Reservoir Dog. :) I'm one of the pickiest, fussiest eaters around--just ask my mom :D--and am a stickler for quality. They have some of the best sandwiches I've had--even from authentic Jewish delis. The ham and cheese was only $3.29 for a big sandwich. Their homemade mini French baguette also made a great sandwich. Try it once. :) If you don't like it, send me the bill. :D

Here's something I copied from their site.

The "Tim's Own" sandwich lineup includes six varieties:
Black Forest Ham & Swiss
Harvest Turkey Breast
Fireside Roast Beef
Albacore Tuna Salad
Chunky Chicken Salad
Garden Vegetable

All sandwiches are built on your choice of a fresh-baked white or whole wheat country bun or regular or big baguette, with tomato, lettuce and our special creamy dressing.

Tim Hortons is actually really good. It's like Starbucks here, we have about 5 within 5 minutes walking distance. Lol, nothing beats deep fried donuts.

Alright, you've convinced me. But I have to ask, what kind of Jewish deli makes a ham and cheese sandwhich :D?

Goofs

I don't think goofs like the dummies are a true measure of how well a film is made, some of the most high-budget and professional films ever (Titanic, The Matrix, Star Wars etc) also have the most goofs and mistakes. Dummies are always used in dangerous action scenes, there's often no way of avoiding using them. Commando has some great dummies towards the end and it's one of my favourite films ever!

It was mentioned the voice-overs were very obvious in Belly of the Beast but I'd say the Out of Reach dubbing was far, far more obvious. After watching The Foreigner again recently I think the odd dubbing in that one actually is Steven's voice, just recorded in a different way to all the rest. He may literally have phoned in his last minute dialogue on that one.

ahhh !!! This review is not a surprised for me. As I told before this film was prejudice and no prior investigation were made.
Bad guys can be Turks, he shouldn't have mixed the consolate and flags in the film and the people wouldn't get angry.
Mr.Seagal lost prestige in Turkey.
May be he doesn't care about it but as a Turkish person we care.
I didn't like the prejudiced approach of a person who claims that he is someone who likes humanity and people. After this review, that means some other people who are thinking like me.
I am very sorry for this !! I am soooooooooooo sorry !!! I am sooooooo sorry!
sincerely

Another Out of Reach Review

Theme and Plot Good, But?, August 23, 2004

Reviewer: Dave "David" (Newark, Delaware) - See all my reviews
If you are a Steven Seagal fan, as I am, you will enjoy this movie for the plot and theme. He generally has a cause that he trys to express in many of his movies, and this is no different. I don't know much about the man outside of his movies, but from what I read in those I think he is a man with some deep convictions on certain topics. It shows in his movies. In this movie it is the human slave trade of young women which does go on, even today. People have different ways of making social statements and I think this is his way of doing it, through some of his films.

This movie though lacked the action scenes normally found in his films, and the voiceovers completely ruined the movie for me. How disconcerting to here the thoughts of the main character, Seagal, as an aside but with a completely different voice from his??? That happens throughout the entire movie. What in the world was the director thinking of? This was absolutely the dumbest thing I think I have seen in a movie. In addition, some of the action scenes were so obviously staged, and that showed too: specifically the sword fight and also in a couple other places. These made the action scenes seem unreal unlike most of his movies.

In any case it is worth a rental to watch. The theme and plot were well done I think, and the script was pretty good too. The young girl did a fine job of acting, also. I think most Seagal fans will like this movie, but be upset with the voiceovers, as I am. It is not one of his better movies in my opinion, so I only rated it 3 stars.

I thought Out Of Reach was an ok film personally, as I have thought about all his films. I admit, however, that the voice overs were a little hard to swallow, since it seems that with every new movie there is more and more voice dubbing with someone obviously NOT Shihan.

Suzi, I hope that perhaps you can look beyond his film and not judge Shihan for any wrong doing. I am sure neither he nor the film makers were intentionally intending to degrade and Turkey citizen. I look at it like this, it could have been and American, British, Russian or any other Consolate and flag. And if it had been, so be it. A movie is make beleive and I hope others can see beyond what is purportedly a racist or even an ethnic attack. I truly beleive it is not as Shihan loves all of gods creatures. And Suzi dear...I LOVE YA!!!!!!

Yes, tenshiaikidoka!!

For example, The Hunt For Red October was full of flaws but it was a very entertaining movie nonetheless (I don't know how entertaining OOR is as I'm still waiting :D)
