And now, time for more "Animals in the News". ;)
After an important word from our sponsor. :D

1) Meercats stand under a heating lamp to warm-up during a cold winter morning in Cologne's Zoo March 4, 2005.

2) Catching some rays : Pink flamingoes sunbathe at the Copenhagen Zoo. After snowstorms and low temperatures the first days in March, Denmark is now enjoying lovely winter weather with snow and sun March 9, 2005.

3) (Now I REALLY miss Heather! :() An infant male orangutan named Cinta bites on a goodie bag containing strawberries, peanuts and grapes at the San Diego Zoo, Friday, March 4, 2005, in San Diego. Cinta and the rest of the orangutan gang received the treats in honor of Cinta, the first orangutan born at the Zoo in nine years who turns one-year-old this weekend.

4) A young baboon climbs over the head of his fellows during a cold winter morning in Cologne's Zoo March 4, 2005.

5) One-month-old female Sichuan Takin (Budorcas taxicolor tibetana) calf 'Peooleng' walks beside its eight-year-old mother 'Tsanpo' at Berlin's Tierpark Friedrichsfelde zoo March 1, 2005.

1) A dog named Tyson of Brookline, Mass., wears raincoat while walking with his owner in the snow, Tuesday, March 1, 2005. The second snow storm to hit the Northeast in less than a week snarled traffic and caused numerous school and flight cancellations along the East Coast.

2) (To each his own, eh? ;) :D)A pair of male penguins at the Bremerhaven zoo. Of the ten male Humboldt penguins at the zoo, six have formed into 'homosexual' couples and have shown no interest in the females, making breeding an impossibility. March 8, 2005.

3) A red pheasant looks out of his cage at a park in Amman March 9, 2005. Dozens of students flocked to the park to see eccentric bird types that were brought from around the world to this venue.

4) A miniature Dachshund is introduced to a Great Dane. The average dog in Britain costs 20,000 pounds (29,000 euros, 38,000 dollars) to look after over the course of its lifetime, more than a luxury car or round the world cruise. March 6, 2005.

5) Waiting for his owner, Cheyenne the Great Dane catches some rays through the sunroof the family SUV in a shopping mall parking lot in Bainbridge, Ohio Thursday, March 3, 2005.

Are meerkats illegal, Amos?
Or do you mean Mrs. Amos won't let you have one? :D

Great pics serena of all our pets friends. :)
You always put fantastic pics. I really appreciate.

Amos, thanx for the explanations about spiders. I agree with the fact that spiders are useful. I never kill one, i always bring it outside to let her hunt the insects i don't wanna see in my house (flyes, mosquitos...)

Ohhhhhhhhhh and serena thanx for the detail about the pic with the huge "spiders". Tat was interesting. :)

Serena thanks for those pictures.:)
Amos I like meerkats to. They are like little ferrets.
The only spider that I can't seem to deal with is the jumping spider. Thank you both for that information about spiders.

You're welcome for the pictures, Pantera and Kathy. :)

And thanks, Pantera. I thought that was an interesting article about the huge '"spiders". Apparently someone was spreading a silly rumor on the internet that these "spiders" would latch onto a soldier in the desert while he was sleeping at night and in the morning half his arm would be gone. Glad to say it's not true!

Cats can be terrible sometimes . This morning, Cybele was a nightmare :(. As far as my radio switched on, she never stopped to meow, walk on me and purr, until I got up, same if it was not for food. When I was up, she simply slept on the bed while few hours :D. I think she wanted to simply take my place :D

Codyn is going nuts!

Gambling that I'm really staying home a while I brought home some baby chicks and turkeys. They stay in a warm brooder box we built in a room Cody is no lobger allowed in as he'd quickly kill the chicks and turkeys. He's really upset because he can hear them peeping and I won't let him in there. I figure I'll have turkeys for my Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes I give next November and December and nice big brown eggs too.

Cody just has to live with the birds.
