Thought you guys might like to see some better news about animals.
1) Two lion cubs are weighed in Aalborg Zoo, Denmark, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004. The five day old cubs are a bit of a surprise to the zoo staff, as their mother had only herself become sexually mature, and because a lioness' first litter rarely survives.
2) Sumatran tiger Assiqua top grooms her son Dumai at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia, Friday, Oct.22, 2004. Tiger cubs Jumilah, Sendiri and Dumai turn one year old this week and are a valuable addition to breeding programs as Sumatrans in the wild only number about 400.
3) A female 85-pound white rhinoceros rests her head on her mother at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla., Monday, Oct. 18, 2004. Busch Gardens introduced the baby, born Oct. 12, to their 26-acre habitat on the park's Serengeti Plain.
4) One-year-old Sumatran tiger Dumai plays with its scratching post tagged 'Aussie Dog' in its enclosure during a birthday breakfast at Sydney's Taronga Zoo October 22, 2004. The cub, one of three born in October last year, is a valuable addition to the zoo's tiger breeding program as Sumatran tigers only number about 400 in the wild.
5) A two-day-old Hippopotamus swims at Dusit Zoo in Bangkok Friday, Oct. 22, 2004. It is highly protected by its five-year-old mother 'Mayom.' The baby Hippopotamus's sex still cannot be identified.
