Fan review from Stallonezone:
Hi guys, so I live in Rome and yesterday I had the pleasure to be at the Bullet To The Head premiere. As you noticed, the movie is getting great reviews, but please feel free to ask me anything you want.
However, the movie really delivers, thanks to a great script by Alessandro Camon. This is what happens when you hire a great writer for an action movie: you have a great action movie! Camon has been expecially good in understanding the tone of the movie and the genre, and the result is a true 70/80 action flick, full of one liners (obviously the most by Sly), bloody shootings, female nudity (well, just a bit), and the classical "one's a cop, one's a hitman-with-an-heart" scheme.
Obviously Walter Hill gives a unique touch to the movie, and if you've seen most of his previous works, you'll certainly recognise his style: greet, violent, funny and entertaining.
About the violence: the movie is an hard R, but we have again the cg blood, even if better than the one we saw in The Expendables 2. And yes, here's a lot of swearing and f-bombs, so don't worry about that.
The cast: Sung Kang is a surprise. His acting is good and his character well built. He definitely creates a good chemistry with Sly.
Jason Momoa is, believe it or not, a great bad guy. From the trailers I tought e would have been just the classical huge guy who never talks and beats everyone, but I was wrong. The character has personality and charisma, and you're going to enjoy every scene he's in.
Christian Slater really, really steals the show. He's the centre of one of the funniest scenes and his character is exceptional. He'll surely make you laugh.
And here we are: Sly. What can I say? The real success of the movie is Sly portraing a character that's totally different from what we've sern before. The reviews won't thell you this, they'll say he play the usual tough guy, but that's not true. He's funny, he's mean, he kills everyone with style and he's, from a certain point of view, realistic.
The movie runs fast and you'll be totally satisfied at the end.
Yes, the axe fight is amazing and extremely well directed and in my opinion way better than the Sly vs. Van Damme fight.
Just a couple of things: fist of all, there was this rumor about both Sly and Kang characters loosing their respective partners. Is fake.
And, second thing, I didn't like so much the guy who plays Sly's partner, but he's out in a few minutes, so no big deal
