Not a good way to get Estonia popular though :)

Just like I heard that our ASU (university) is the top one in the states for having the most crime :)

Serena,i forget that sometimes, that you have to comfort kids fighting for life. It must be a real drain emotionally.
There are some times that are a little more difficult than others, Storm. But having some special people
in my life who love me and whom I love, as well as coming to and participating in this forum, help
immensely. :)

I don't even know what to say, Heather, I'm so overwhelmed. Our friendship is very special to me and I truly do value this bond we share. :) You're a very loyal friend, and I do believe you would turn someone's "ass into grass" for a friend. :D It doesn't come easy for me to say either, Heather, but I do love you girl!!! :)

A search of the news didn't turn up any information that The Wiggles were in a Thanksgiving Day parade, Heather, but they were last year! I adore these guys. I have all their tapes, as my two youngest nephews just loved them, and the 4 y/o still does. And I also take them to the hospital and the shelter for the kids, who are fascinated with them. :) Just what kids loves most--movement and music! :D

They have a new Christmas video coming out, so I'll be adding that to my collection, as well. It's called "The Wiggles: Santa's Rockin'!" People can joke all they want about the Wiggles, but they are very serious when it comes to entertaining and educating children. :)

Drugs, weapons found in his home
Saturday, November 27, 2004 Posted: 6:03 PM EST (2303 GMT)

NEWARK, New Jersey (AP) -- A father's attempt to teach his daughter a lesson about drinking backfired when the teen led police to a stash of drugs and weapons inside their home.

Kevin Winston, 46, called police at 2:45 a.m. Friday after his 16-year-old daughter came home drunk and unruly. When police arrived, however, the girl told them she feared for her safety because her father stored drugs and weapons in the home.

The girl led officers to a crawl space above the ceiling where they found four semiautomatic guns and more than 600 vials of cocaine.

Winston was charged with numerous weapons and drug charges. His five daughters were placed in the custody of a relative.

"He called us on her and ended up getting locked up himself," said Newark Police Director Anthony Ambrose.

Parents strike to protest messy kids

Parents strike to protest messy kids
Wednesday, December 8, 2004 Posted: 7:34 AM EST (1234

DELTONA, Florida (AP) -- Even though the dishes,
garbage and dirty laundry were piling up, homeowners
Cat and Harlan Barnard were getting no help from their
two children.

After begging and pleading with their 17-year-old son
and 12-year-old daughter to help out around the house,
the Barnards decided they were fed up. So they went on
strike -- and moved out to the front yard.

"This was our last-ditch effort," Cat Barnard said.

Since Monday morning, the Barnards have lived in a
tent in their front yard, going inside the house only
to use the restroom or shower. The couple sits on lawn
chairs and roasts marshmallows over a hibachi.

Their children were confused on the first day when
they came home from school. "It's extremely
inconvenient," said their son, Ben Barnard. "Every
time the phone rings, we have to run outside to give
it to them."

Whether the couple's actions could be regarded as
abandonment depends on how much guidance the parents
are still providing and "if the children are suffering
as a result," said Carrie Hoeppner, a spokeswoman with
the Department of Children & Families in Orange
County.

But Cat Barnard says the strike may already be paying
dividends. She noted that her daughter washed her own
clothes for the first time on Tuesday.

"This is war," Cat Barnard said. "I love my babies,
but I don't like what they're doing."

"Abandonment", sez Children's Services - give me a break! They should concern themselves more with children at risk rather than a couple of lazy kids whose parents are trying to teach them a lesson. A bit drastic, maybe, but sometimes drastic measures are called for.

Former N.C.-based Marine accused in Ohio nightclub
shooting
12/10/2004 10:53 AM
By: Associated Press

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - A former Camp Lejeune Marine who's
accused of shooting former Pantera guitarist "Dimebag"
Darrell Abbott during a concert claimed the heavy
metal band stole his song lyrics.

Nathan Gale once showed up at a friend's house saying
he wanted to share songs he had written. The friend is
quoted in news reports as saying pages of lyrics were
copied from Pantera, but Gale claimed he had written
them and that he was going to sue Pantera.

Police say they may never know why Gale charged the
stage at a heavy metal show and gunned down four
people, including Abbott, who is considered one of
metal rock's most revered guitarists.

A Marine spokeswoman says Gale was discharged in
November 2003 after less than two years, which is
shorter than the typical four-year stint. The
spokeswoman wouldn't give the reason for his
discharge, citing privacy rules.

Gale worked as an auto mechanic with the Second Marine
Division at Lejeune.
