MMCK - I have liked all of Jet Li's 'Hollywood' movies apart from 'The One', which I thought was a bit of a disappointment, rescued only by a cool fight between the 2 Jet's. What impressed me about it was that both of them had differing martial arts styles (one was a brutal, straight-forward 'attacking' style, while the other was a circular 'defending' style), which is something of a testament to the guys' talent. Cradle 2 The Grave is excellent if not spoilt slightly by a flimsy plot and a rather pathetic scene near the end where the panto-style dialogue during a nuclear experiment goes something like: "1 Hiroshima" and all the Chinese guys sitting around watching the experiment go: "Oooh!" and try to look awe-struck. Then: "2 Hiroshima's"... "Ahhh!" "3 Hiroshima's" "Oooooh!" "4 Hiroshima's" "Ahhhhh!" Like - get a ******* grip will you!
However - Mark Dacascos is an astonishing martial artist (watch Brotherhood Of The Wolf, Crying Freeman, Sanctuary and Drive for more proof) and the climatic fight with Jet Li is awesome, but every fight that Jet has in that movie (including a jaw-dropping rumble with about 50 UFC fighters in a cage) just plain rock!
Out of 10, I would rate Jet's Hollywood movies:
Romeo Must Die - 8
Kiss Of The Dragon - 9
The One - 5
Cradle 2 The Grave - 7
