I don't personally see anything wrong with wishful thinking myself...I have it also...I just see wishful thinking as wishful thinking and reality as reality(or try to).
Oh, I agree with you on this as far as wishful thinking. I usually reserve that, though, for something other than celebrity worship, I guess. Like the children I work with as a nurse didn't have to go through what they do. Like they could find a cure for these things I see every day. That people in the world were a little nicer to each other. You see what I mean, I think.

Of course I think it would be great if Seagal would take time out occasionally..pop on the internet and drop a brief message every once in awhile..I think it would be very postive for him and for his fans.
Certainly. That would be nice--agreed. But, as in the case of yesterday, when "Steven Seagal" left a message for the fans at his website asking them to be patient--did you notice how many people didn't believe it was really him?
Even I don't know for sure what to think. So, if everyone will always doubt it's him, why would he bother?

I never understood what was meant by 'switching loyalties' to web-sites...
I'm not sure what you mean by "switching loyalties" either.

I can undrstand loyalty or being a devoted fan of someone..but not a web-site..I seem to lack the comprehension of this concept all together.people usually go to web-sites they enjoy or get something out of...they go back to it often.
This is actually the only web site I've been a member of. I joined it as I was very interested in learning more about Steven Seagal. But I've developed many special friendships here, as have a lot of other members. Maybe it's a "girl thing", who knows.
But still, the biggest thrill is finding a bit of info about Steven on the internet and sharing it with others here. Listening to others' ideas and opinions about his movies, about every aspect of his life, actually. Speculating together, anticipating a new movie together--waiting for the trailer together.
I guess maybe that's what I mean by being devoted to a web site. It's the people, the community of that website, the sharing, the camaraderie, the friendships. Obviously some people spend more time here than others, and it is between those people, I guess, that such feelings really exist.

I always thought the original official site generated much interest and participation(many of who are still around here now).
I wasn't around for the original site, but I did look through the portal that Craig provided a few months back. I read a lot of posts. In all honesty, I don't see much difference than the way it is here now.
the line about 'if people switched their support ....to say .....you'...
I wasn't looking for 'support"(not even sure what you really meant by that)
I'm sorry about that, John.
That was what a dear friend of mine likes to call a "crossed wire" across the internet.
My implication had nothing to do with you personally. I simply meant that even if the site switched to the Unofficial Bugs Bunny Site, I would still be here if the same members stayed. Because, as I've indicated, I greatly enoy being a part of this community and have developed many friendships--both personal and here in the forum. It all goes hand-in-hand with sharing a common interest--Steven Seagal--with your friends.

.....so I came up with a 'time-line' concept where I could put in the pieces from various audio, video and print interviews into the years where they belonged....
You have an excellent website, John. I don't say that to flatter you. I found your site before this one last year when I was looking and that is what actually stimulated my interest to find a forum where I could participate and learn more and exchange opinions and views with others. In all honesty, if I hadn't visited your site first, where I learned many things about Steven Seagal I didn't know, I very possibly would never have pursued looking for more info and may not have ended up here.

I tell ya'....searching for the 'truth' about Steven Seagal and what he's up these days(weaving your way thru repeated and inaccurate info) is more like a 'quest'.
But for some of us, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, that "search for the truth" is what keeps this forum going strong. That little news article someone found, or a blurb on the internet somewhere, have sparked many, many interesting conversations and debates. It keeps people talking, wondering if it's true, looking for confirmation or denial from other sources. Again, it's really part of the experience of being here, part of the enjoyment of sharing and exchanging facts, rumors, opinions, and ideas.

Ah.........nothing like some coffee and a stimulating conversation in the morning....
Thank you very much, John.
I agree 100% about the stimulating conversation.
Only for me it's Diet Pepsi.
Take care.
