Weekends... I have to get a story written by June 23rd, and I write best at night after 11 p.m., during the week, but weekends are okay!

I try... trouble is, I don't spend enough time at it, having to work to make sure I have a place to live and food to eat! I'm presently working on a couple of novels and a handful of short stories. The trouble is, most of my writing is in a genre that is very difficult to break into, and depends a lot on who you know as much as the kind and quality of story one writes. Unless I work at it all the time, it will be some time before I get past all those other writers and see my work in print.

In the meantime, I work with a group of people "workshopping" my stories so that I can improve faster. We set up individual deadlines for story submissions, and mine happens to be June 23rd, and of course, I've left it to the last minute again....

And thanks to our Steven, I've had more ideas in the last month than I had in all of last year. I get ideas when I watch movies I really, really enjoy. So it's not like I didn't have any ideas for stories, I just take a really, really long time to get around to writing them... and when I do, I can't/don't do anything else, sometimes for days (or weeks!) at a time.

And the last four films I ordered from B&N are here (well, almost here!) at last! I pick them up from the post office tomorrow! I know what I'm going to be doing all weekend instead of writing....

FYI, the films are: Above the Law, Out for Justice, Hard to Kill and Fire Down Below. (I think: I know I also ordered Marked for Death, Half Past Dead and The Patriot, but I'm not sure now which films are in which of my last two orders from B&N!).

That just leaves Ticker, Executive Decision, On Deadly Ground, My Giant (although I'm not keen on getting that one except for his cameo) and Out for A Kill when it's released in August. Am I missing any? (I've already got US and USII, The Glimmer Man and of course Exit Wounds.)

Thanks for the list, Mama San! I missed The Foreigner, yes, definitely I have to get that one, and Get Bruce and Path Beyond Thought as well.

If only my money would hold out for a little while longer - work has suddenly dried up again, and things are very tight right now!

I need to find a new line of work, I think. This isn't as steady or as well paying as it used to be, and there are a lot of things I need (never mind all the things I want!) to get.
