When he steps in front of the camera, then you'll know for sure. It's been that way in all the films so far. You have to take everything Sly says with a pinch of salt up until it actually happens.
I believe it will though. This one has to outdo the last and if they get all the names mentioned so far, or most, it definitely will.

Not true....Sly always confirms if something he told is happening.

For example:

First he mentioned Mel Gibson as a director....He ASKS people what they think of. After that everybody is going wild and saying " wow Gibson is directing EX3". After that Sly's says "No Mel Gibson" and everybody goed angry and saying "dont' believe what Sly is saying"....I mean what the ****? he didn't say he was directing, he just mentioned the possibiliy. The same is with Seagal and that tweets yesterday about Gina Carano. He never said Seagal is in, he only said he is negotiating with him. Some news sites pick this up and say..."Seagal is in". When we hear tomorrow that Seagal is out people say "Don't believe Sly". People really need to read and think better...

First of all!!
If Seagal was out Sly would have Tweeted it and told us, he always does. Second of all, the cast is in place, hence the Tweet *New TEAM a Blessing:* Again, if Seagal wasn't in Sly would have told us before Tweeting about the new TEAM.

Second of all::
The update from the Bulgarian newspaper stating that Seagal is aiding Stallone in fighting Gibson seems to be true since Gibson has been confirmed by Sly, so the pieces are adding up, Seagal is in wait and see!!

Sly will always make bold statements. It may be he's announced Gibson on little more than a handshake. Regarding casting, storyline, etc I'll believe it when everything is SIGNED and SEALED. There have been countless rumours around the last two films, many coming from Sly himself, that never came to fruition.

And what of Stallone saying he had Chan on board? Chan turned around and said he would only be on board if the part fit.
I don't think Twitter ever really helps situations but Stallone is well known for changing his mind on a weekly basis or getting ahead of himself. Expect there to be more twists and turns in casting. And expect the plotline to change between now and filming...and then to change many times during filming.
What do I base this on? The previous 2 Expendable films, and Sly in general. And I'm not ragging on Sly here, the guys awesome. But like I say, don't take anything he says as set in stone. But also being Sly, if he wants it, chances are it'll happen. People respect him.

What a load of crap. Sly is always careful about how he adresses the situations. He never says anyone is in in any way what so ever before he is absolutley 100% sure about it!!

Well, there are some people who think with the new team Sly meant the team behind the camera. They have a new stunt coordinator for example. But maybe he really means the "Expendables" -team. We will see. :)

Exactly. Sly is smart, he is giving us some clues about EX3. He leaves the door open for our own interpretation...He does that we almost every tweet. But some newssites pick this up as CONFIRMED news. I like Sly for the fact that he teases us with his tweets!

Well if you've kept up with Sly over the years, he's done a lot of interviews and said things that have never come to fruition and he's always changing his mind. It's something he's well known for. I'm not talking purely about casting speculation.

Also, though he might be TEASING with what he's saying. He's hinted at things on a public place. If he says he's talking to Jackie Chan about Exp 3. Then OF COURSE people will assume he's going to try and get Chan in. What I'm saying is that people should just wait until the cameras are rolling and the cast whoever it may be have stepped on their marks. Sly contradicts himself almost on a weekly basis. He's been very candid on certain sites. Not just his own but Aintitcool and others. But like I say. I'm not complaining about him. The guys awesome, In a round about way I'm saying I'll believe it when I see it. That goes for every rumour that Sly has himself perpetrated. I know people who've been on set with him and he's larger than life but unpredictable. He changes his scripts on a daily basis. That's a fact.

As for talking crap, I think you've cornered the market on that one Josh. You're not the only one guilty on these boards but is your sole purpose just to have arguments and try and bully people on here (not that I'm in the least bit bothered myself)? I used to come on here a lot more often but it's so snipy and extremely negative these days. Some people on here are pathetic, particularly the way they talk to the ladies on the board. Talk about last in the queue when God was handing out manners.

As this is an open forum for expressing opinions and "apparently" has some rules about conduct, if you think someone is posting crap, maybe you can just keep it to yourself or perhaps have a REASONED argument.

Seagal may just not be signed on yet. There's no specific mention of him in that article as either in or out. Some of those Sly mention won't have officially signed on yet either, so that could change. I'm thinking specifically of Cage and Chan because both are always so busy they may struggle to fit it in their schedule.

The major worry though is Seagal's relationship with Millenium and the Lerner's. That may stand in the way of a successful negotiation, even if Sly wants it to happen.

Like I say though. You'll know who's in and who's out for sure when the cameras roll. I still won't be surprised to see Seagal pop up in a cameo like Norris. I don't see it being any more than that.

We will know before that. Millenium Films website will post the entire confirmed cast when it is in place before they start shooting, like they did with the previous two movies.

He would never accept a cameo, so either he gets a full part or he will not be in. Lets just hold our breath for another month and see ..

I think Avi Lerner is quite well known for being stubborn. Seagal is also well known for being very strong willed. I think above anything else, this will be the issue that's most likely to stand in the way of it happening.
I do think Sly will push for this to happen, but he probably tried to get Seagal in the first two films unsuccessfully.
But...third time luck, who knows????

I really don't understand this (if he is not in it). Sly Stallone approaches you to be in a great blockbuster action movie, Mr Seagal!!! It's good for your career if you accept, Mr. Seagal! Maybe you will get funding for your new projects, Mr. Seagal! And maybe...last but not least... you're FANS will go nuts if you are in this project.....That would be so awesome! But no....."the part didn't fit"...

So I'm calm now...:)

Seagal, Gibson, Snipes and Chan are confirmed and no longer listed as rumored on imdb. It's not the most reliable source but Van Damme and Norris were listed the same way prior to filming EX2.
