It was a Kurt Russel movie and he did it as
a favor for his friend, Kurt Russel.
And from what I've heard ........ for him "not wanting to be killed off"
in the first of that picture..... he knew from the get-go that this was
a part of the story line. I don't believe he had any problems with it.
But the press, of course, had their own ideas! Just remember, the
press believes they know everything!!! And ..... what they're not sure
of they make-up!
At one time it was an honor to be a member of the fourth estate. However,
that was quite a while ago, so that now-a-days they can't tell the truth
from a lie!
God bless,

Especially when it comes to Steven Seagal!! They just love to mess with this guy, as if Steven gives a hoot about any of them. There's nothing that they can say or do that will stop him being the wonderful , extraordinary human being that he is!!!

bring it on big guy
i believe that if you cant say it to people face to face then dont say it at all. and even though he didnt say it no one would believe that vinnie jones could take down steven so it would be pointless puttin that in a movie as people would just laugh at it knowing its bull s$%t. and i would love to see him say it to stevens face thats one ass kickin i would love to see steven give as he would lol x x x

This story is probably true. There are dozens and dozens of stories just like this one. Its a shame Steven acts like that on set. Its one thing if you act like that and make good movies, its another thing if you act like that and make Submerged

Saying that though, nobody would believe DMX could take down Seagal, yet he gets a few vicious slaps in on our hero when they fight in Exit Wounds. All movies are bullsh*t - but you willingly suspend your disbelief when watching them.

Agree with you Glimmerman. First they are supposed to be playing characters in the movie, not themselves. Do I really think that Tommy Lee Jones would last long in a Knife fight with Seagal in real life...probably not. But these are movies, I would rather watch a real well choreographed even fight sequence, then watch Seagal knock someone out in 5 seconds "because that is what would happen in real life".

That does not mean that all of the fight sequences have to be even. There is always the time and place for Seagal to just destroy an opponent in the movie, just not everytime.

Huh! DMX wouldn't last a minute in a fight
with me and I'm 68 years old! :D
Steven would just flick him off like a fly!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Excellent post. Exactly - I'd rather watch a well choreographed fight where Seagal takes on someone who (in the movie) is equally skilled as him in a lengthy fight sequence rather than a very short clip of Seagal (or his stunt double) furiously flapping his hands about and people falling to the floor. Or I'd love to see something like the beautifully shot multiple opponant sequences of movies like Marked For Death and Out For Justice again.

Here we go again. Have you been on the film sets and witnessed Steven doing these things? Look, just because a myth gets repeated over and over doesn't make it fact, right! I wish people would just leave this guy be and quit with the rumours already!!!

Please don't get defensive. If it were one story than I could understand your point, but there are stories from quite a few movie sets and from quite a few different people about his behavior. Were you on all those sets and have first hand knowledge that the stories are not true. At what point, or number of stories do you stop saying, they are all lies and rumors, and say well maybe they have some foundation in truth.

For me, even if all the stories are true, it does not change the fact that I still enjoy his work.

Hi everyone I know I've been gone a month or two but was really busy dealing with our tourist coming into the Bahamas. I am glad to be back and listen Mr. Steven Seagal is an icon and will always be number one. I dont see how anyone could expect him to be and act the same way he did 20 years ago but guess what he is still good and he is still the best in my book despite what anyone says about him I love "The Man"

Good for you Mopey3655, I agree with you. But I bet I love him more than you do kiddo!!
By the way, do you collect Steven's DVDs? At present I own 24 in my collection. I'm having problems finding these:

Hard to Kill
On deadly Ground
I keep trying though, I will manage to add them to my collection somehow.
Oh, how was the Bahamas, you lucky thing?

Point taken and i concur with u GM. Even reading DMX's replies to questions asked of him by Black Belt magazine editor, Stephen Quadros, 'DMX what type of fighting did you learn?" DMX replied, "street-fighting. None of this coordinated fighting you see in martial arts movies", i doubt DMX could defeat Steven Seagal in a real live fight, street or martial. To me, DMX was simply attempting to sound as tough as possible in this magazine article to promote 'Exit Wounds' movie in defense of his own ego.

Poor DMX - was he in or out of jail at the time? LOL. It's a running joke in my household.

I think he's in jail right now!
