What is the "Right" religion?

Exactly!!!!

There are some who believe we make our own hell. They also believe that each individual is responsible for their own actions and thoughts. On Judgment Day, God will question each and every one about the good and bad done throughout their lifetime/s - all one can do is try to be a good person and help the good outweigh the bad. To those who cause others to suffer, they themselves will feel what they did to those people. That is God's Compassion - to show us what we do to others so that we may understand to treat all lives as our own ... love one another. Just another aspect of "belief".
In Oneness and Peace

This is what I believe too.

Thanks for the welcome Tora..

Are you aware that Tara is an important Buddhist protective entity? Some call her a goddess. Most Buddhists like me who I've met in the orient consider her a protective Buddha herself. She take many forms.

I Think Tora is an interesting name too>

Well,as I had noticed Tara and Tora sounds similar :D

I believe it's the name for Earth mother some where and I'm sure some people think of Tara that way too. I just thought Tara was a startling name for someone who is so stongly opinionated about her church. I respect everyone's church. I just wish some were not so judgemental of others.

I don`t think there is a right religion.
I think and belive that the fait is in your self.
And what you think and what you belive is only yours and no one else.
And when it feels good it is good.I don`t think you have doubts about it.That is what i belive. I Think there is someone who is watch over you. But i can`t tell if it is God or someone else.

Love Connie :)

I found these quotes that really hit home for me:

FAITH

"When you step into the unknown, faith is knowing there will be something to stand on or you will be taught how to fly."
~Barbara J. Winters, from The Hope Health Newsletter

TRUTH

"The quest for truth must be carried out by each person individually. It is like breathing, something which no one else can do for us."

~Seyyed Hossein Nasr~ Philosopher, writer and professor at George Washington University.

Take care of your self and your kin. Be good to all who deserves it and don't mind the rest.
I don't belive in any gods but I belive in my self and I belive that if I do my best, my life will be rich.

What does a person believe in concerning the after life if they do not believe in God?

Robert P. Olsson

In my world there is no God that rules in the past, the present or the afterlife.
Everybody is there own ruler, but not in a way so everybody starts hurting each other because they want to rule one another.

To answer your question....I believe in rebirth.
Some of you refer to it as reincarnation, but only realized beings reincarnate (they come to come back willingly). Sentient beings are bound by the cycle of rebirth (not upto them).

Reincarnation
Although often thought to be synonymous with rebirth, this term is used - in Hinduism and Buddhism - to indicate a "controlled" return to another life by human beings sufficiently advanced to master the bardo and to control time, place, and the parents connected with their approaching new birth.

Rebirth
Although often thought to be synonymous with reincarnation, there is a clear and important difference and distinction between these two concepts. In Hinduism and Buddhism, rebirth signifies a somewhat 'automatic' return to a seemingly endless number of lives. Thus, the term applies only to the death and rebirth of an untrained, non-enlightened individual who has no control of his or her fate and future.

Do people who believe in reincarnation believe they are able to control what or who they become later? Did you get to choose who you are now, from who you believe you were before? Are my questions making any sense? I hope so.

Yes...Julie your questions make sense.

I did put both definitions there for a reason. Enlightened beings (Buddhas)reincarnate. Sentient beings (the unenlightened) are bound by rebirth. Rebirth means you don't get to choose ...you just keep coming back till you get it right (become enlightened...a Buddha). Unless you believe me to be a Buddha I am here just like anybody else... not by choice. Only those who are enlightened can choose how, when, or where they will come back.

What do you mean by you just keep coming back until you get it right? Can you, I mean get it right?
For me, I am not coming back. Once is enough. When I die I am going home to be with my Lord Jesus Christ.

Julie,

You did ask this...stick with the question. I am not talking about what you think or believe. I am answering your question, and it was relating to those who don't believe in god.

Sorry, I forgot I am not to contribute my thoughts and beliefs in this topic. Thank you for the reminder. So much for setting aside our differences, what happened?
