After performing with Lionel Ritchie, ace percussionist Sivamani is upbeat and ready to go globe-trotting with Steven Seagal.

Zakir Hussain describes him as a phenomenon that walks through this planet but once or twice in a century. No recording of A R Rehman is complete without him.

He is a must with Louis Banks, be it live shows or studio recordings. What greater introduction does a musician need. Meet rhythm maestro Anandan Sivamani.

The musician just finished performing with none other than Lionel Ritchie and well, this ace percussionist is just ecstatic about it, "It was great fun performing with Lionel. We performed at Vijay Mallya's birthday.

And what's great is that the guests loved it. Lionel is very warm as a person. He is a rock star," suggests Sivamani.

And well, that's not all about the drummer's international forays. Soon he will be off on a world tour with Hollywood star Steven Seagal.

INTERVIEW WITH SHIVAMANI :

Shivamani, Percussionist, on playing with Lionel Ritchie.

How was it like playing with Lionel Ritchie?

It was great fun performing with Lionel. We performed at Vijay Mallya's birthday. It was a very good crowd and they all loved it. Lionel is very warm as a person. I completely enjoyed playing with him. He is a rockstar.

So you are truly going international?

I have always loved to go abroad. I have a world tour with Hollywood star Steven Seagal. I have just released a new album and will soon be promoting it all over the globe along with the actor.

That will be really exciting. I am looking forward to it.

What's happening on the concert front?

I have just finished one in United Kingdom and Australia with AR Rehman. There is one more coming up with him. That apart, I am also busy with my own album which would be out shortly.

AR Rehman, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan and Louis Banks will be performing with me for the album. It's nice to perform together with all these maestros.

And the most interesting part is that they are all very good friends of mine. The album will have world music. It will have music, both for lounge and discotheques. I also keep giving rhythmic tunes to different movies.

How do you relax?

I love listening to music and working out. It's great being in good physical shape. When I get spare time, I love to go to South Africa.

My inlaws come from there and it's my favourite holidaying spot. I love to chill out with my 11-year-old son, Kumaran. You should see him play.

No, it´s a funny thing.Steven is a complicate person with complicates fans as you and I, that change of mind many times as him with complicate states of mood, passing to black to white, hate to love to hate to love.

Perhaps this is the reason why he doesn´t be close his complicate fans to complicate his life.He wants simple in his life, and simple means no fans

The Bee Gees, Kyle Minogue, Inxs(Rest in peace)...etc...You´re bloody well right ´bout the great and wide quality of music bands and actors of your country.I don´t discuss it.I was talking in the way that normally it´s difficult to organize world tours including Australia if the artist have didn´t sell many copies in that country.Maybe in the Steven tour will be different because he is a well known action star.

FOREVER AUSTRALIA

Steven only considers Europe and the Far East as his "fan zones" these days. Even though it's just a hop over a narrow body of water from Thailand to Australia, Australia is an English speaking country and you'll observe he only goes to countries now where English is not spoken (except Turkey - my poor, dear Suzi! I wish I could slap him upside the head for being so stupid) and where "America" is not where the country is located.

Fans in North America, England and Australia are just SOL. (**** out of luck, for those who don't know what the acronym stands for)

Just another slap in the face for us, TD!
He's been doing that a lot.
We put him where he is and now he doesn't
know us. Par for the course, I guess.
God bless,
Mama san

I don't understand what is his problem with my Country. What Turkey did him that he hates from us ? Really I don't understand.. (with bad movie about Turkey and ignores Turkish fans)
It doesn't matter I can say that not big loss for my country and for me !!!
Now he goes everywhere what he wants !!!!
