Steven's Spirituality is Insightful

Hi there fellow people,

I just wanted to mention that Steven's personal spiritual beliefs sound quite interesting and quite similar to a one speaker that I came across few years ago. It looks like he might live according to a principle of spiritual oneness, which says that we are all from the one consciousness, manifesting our lives through our minds and emotions. That is true karma/dharma or whatever they call it; us taking full responsibility for our actions, violence, good deeds and such. Imagine if all you do, say and think, is forming a consequence that comes back to you to be dealt with fairly soon. If all is one, then when we attack another, we attack ourselves as it's a reflection, a mirror image of ourself.

I'd like Steven to enlighten us a little on his personal beliefs/practises, but it sounds so similar to Bernie's, who himself is an international teacher (to hear him speak, check: www.knowyourself.org/speakers/3/ )

WHat do you think, what's his main belief?

Cheers,

WS

THis is very interesting and I think a little to thoughtful. If you think what you say is right then His Ways are that. I think His Ways came before what you suggest of what you heard from another.

It would be easier if you just tried to develop His Ways and not think of the bigger picture.

His Main Belief is His Ways they just are.

Good thinking on your part. I like the mirror part it is to bad the World can't stop fighting long enough to consider this.

We as two will consider this for the World if you agree. Please let me know if you agree.

I await you response so we can begin.

Cheers

Jim USA yes we are first on this one.

Er, I think you may find that the history goes a little further back than Oprah... if you want some good basic, easy-to-read stuff on this sort of Buddhist-type spirituality, I recommend Perry Garfinkel's "Buddha or Bust". It's a highly readable account of Garfinkel's search for some sort of meaningful spirituality that works in both an eastern and western philosophy.
For a more comprehensive history that's a little more challenging, but still readable, Richard Tarnas's two books, "The Passion of the Western Mind" and "Cosmos and Psyche" are both very good. AND... if you are still in the mood, see if you can find Morris Berman's "The Reenchantment of the World". I don't think that last one is still in print, but you can find it on many used book sites on line, or maybe in your local library.
Have fun!!

Hi Wayne, if still here and All other current posters...

I Strongly Bleieve like that too; that Everything we Do, Say and Think, forms consequences....It is mentioned in my Jewish CHRISTian Bible as "The Law of Sewing & Reaping".... I have seen where so many of the Buddhist beliefs are EXACTLY that SAME as the CHRISTian Beliefs I Believe and Try to practice to the best of my ability... Some people are so prejudicely blinded, that they can not see that fact of Truth, which is sad.... Hope yall have a Blessed Day!

I feel the spirit of you post. I think we can now begin to pray and think of better times when all will live in peace.

Lets begin by thinking of actions of others done so as not to hurt others. Perhaps this will help stop some of the bad.

Everybody is invited to join in.

Thank you

Hi Jim

That is a great idea! Corporat Prayer is VERY POWERFUL and Can make a difference! There will always be those who will not listen or do not want change & Peace because they are so selfish & self-centered; our part is not to judge and say who will change, our part is to do our best to make a difference in a positive way, as Much as possible....Coporate Prayer IS A Start!!! All we can do is HOPE & PRAY for the Best and do what we can actively! I challenge Everyone to be nice to someone who is mean to you... I challenge you to go out of your way to Do something helpful & nice for them....and then go home and Pray for them.

Love Always Your Sister,
Eagle/Stacey

Countryeagle,

You are conveying a widely true spiritual concept, I read it in the bible when Jesus said "Turn the other cheek" and when his disciples asked do you pray for someone who they think doesn't deserve it, Jesus replied "You pray for them seventy times seven."
It's almost like natural law, what you give out comes back to you to pray for our enemies and to ask God to bless them releases you from their bad karma and and puts you both into God's Light.
How truly wonderful to find a way out of continuing the cycle of bad karma.
Thanks for that.Love and peace.
