Steven Seagal here to show support to GMA

Hollywood biggie Steven Seagal yesterday gave Intramuros folks the thrill of their lives when he made a surprise visit to the Department of Tourism’s Clamshell 1 exhibit area at 5 p.m. He was accompanied by DoT Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan and former tourism czar Richard Gordon who’s now running for senator under the administration ticket.

Towering over everyone who packed Clamshell 1, the 53-year-old actor-director-producer who was in his trademark Oriental attire shook hands with his fans and acknowledged cheers the way a devoted Buddhist do. DoT prepared a short dance presentation for Seagal and company but pressed for time as they were, they didn’t finish the show. Seagal didn’t mind being mobbed (by photographers and fans alike) as he toured the exhibit area, pausing every now and then when his fancy was caught by certain products, like beaded necklaces and even the native snacks. An excited vendor happily handed Seagal a piece of brownie which the actor touched.. Seagal’s entourage was composed mostly of Japanese nationals who we later learned were officers of the Japan-Filipino Foundation. They were the ones who brought Seagal for an overnight visit to Manila. At a hastily scheduled press conference at the Manila Room of Shangri-La Makati, the action star said he was happy to be back in Manila after such a long time and he thanked Japan-Filipino Foundation for bringing him over to show support to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s election bid. “I’m a great fan of President Arroyo,” he said, while noting the close friendship between the US and the Philippines for a long time now. “My family and friends have faith in your present government which we know has handled difficult crises and problems...” Seagal said he and GMA have mutual friends. “From what I heard from my American and Japanese friends, she’s a talented and wonderful human being, with the ability to be firm when the situation demands. I’m really a great fan of hers.” Seagal was brought to Malacañang by Pagdanganan and Gordon but the president was not there. She later called Seagal on the phone to thank him for his kind thoughts of her. The actor expressed hope that in the near future, he’ll be coming back to do some business in film and music, noting that “the Filipinos are a very musical people.” He might also do a couple of commercials in the Philippines. Seagal loves Asia, having lived in the continent for 15 years starting when he was just 17 when he went to Japan to study Zen and martial arts (aikido, karate, judo and kendo) while teaching English. After perfecting his martial arts, Seagal opened a martial arts school in Japan, the first Westerner to do so. The actor is also a deeply spiritual person. And in l997, it was announced that one of his Buddhist teachers, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, proclaimed the actor a “tulku,”the reincarnation of a Buddhist lama. Seagal, who became an instant action star upon his return to Hollywood via the movie “Above the Law” (l988) and whose most popular movie to date is “Under Seige” (l994), was shooting a movie in Thailand when a two-day lull gave him and his friends the chance to fly to Manila for a short visit. Shot mostly in Japan, the movie is entitled “Enter the Sun” and “I have two weeks more to finish it,” Seagal said. Asked if the actor would also endorse the candidacy of Gordon, he said “I’ ve only known him for a short time but what I saw in him I liked. And from my own intelligence (network), he has a deep philosophy on how to help your nation.” On his part, Gordon thanked Seagal for his confidence in the country’s government and for being very accommodating to everybody. “His presence here thrills me as much as when some Hollywood stars - Lou Diamond Philip, Tia Carrera, et al - came over last year for the Cinemanila Film Festival. The presence of foreigners, especially those with great stature, enhance tourism in our country and so it’s indeed a great time for Steven Seagal to come over to express support to the President.” “Seagal was mobbed in Intramuros and it’s great to know people are up-to-date with him,” Gordon added. The former DoT secretary, who during his short tenure was able to spruce up Intramuros to become what it is today - a great place to visit for shopping, entertainment and dining, and a showcase of the region’s arts, crafts and traditions - intimated that it would be great for local movie producers to come up with a movie project pairing Seagal with a Filipino actress. “There’s a lot of materials here for an American-Filipino film,” he said.

He gave them the thrill of their lives, and he touched a brownie? Like wow, eh? Oh, he's definately a thrill though, no doubt about it...:D

Hey girl...

A brownie is a cross between a cookie and a cake...It's like a bar cookie or a real rich sheet cake, and it's real sweet, and kind of gooey like fudge...Lots of times it has nuts in it, and sometimes it's even frosted with chocolate, too...I gave our maid one once (this was in Egypt) and she said yuck this cake is too sweet...She had never had one either, and I guess to her it was like a deflated cake...To me they are really yummy...

Everybody deserves some sweetness Heather...But you are diabetic, uh-oh...Maybe sugarfree brownies for you, huh? Steven is my sugar, he's a honey, for sure...

Hi Tora... I understood you

It's not a competition! Steven isn't any kind of "puppet", but there's a kind of people just thinking like this! What a shame! It's too bad ! I hope Steven never read "that kind of words from "someone". Her dreams will fall down.Steven deserves much more respect than this. Did anyone "buy" him? Steven belongs to everyone or to no one!

I never said he didn't belong to everyone, he belongs to the whole world and to me
he is a very, very, special man, he is truly a gift...I didn't intended what I said to be taken in that way at all...At least not in this case...And who are you to tell me I don't respect him? You don't even know me, do you? He will be with whomever he wants, whenever he wants...For your information, I deeply want him to be happy...That is why I write to him...Sure I am not perfect, and sure, sometimes my emotions get the best of me, but I feel soooooo much for him, and I NEVER mean it as disrespectful on purpose...Why can't I call him my sugar if I want to, it's just an expression...I have always and will always cherish, respect, admire, and love him, even if it's only from afar...But he's not a god, and he's not a puppet, he is someone I love very much...
And one more thing, I believe he believes in equanimity...
Granted, I would put him on a pedestal if he was "mine" I'd spoil him, but only because I wanted to do it, not because he demanded it...It would be and is my pleasure to honor him...But I think he is very humble, and I feel he wants to be treated as such, so don't sit there and make others out as being so beneath him...At the same time, you must understand that there is a special one for everyone, and to me he is that, in my dreams, please don't minimize them, as you don't know what could happen...And just so you know, if I or anyone was his lady, then that person would have to be his equal in so many ways, if not, there would be no chance for the relationship to survive...Now maybe you see it another way, and that is fine...But don't tell me what I feel...

Oh !!! Nooooo ! What a confusion!
By the way, what are we doing here? Isn't it a free place where each one of us can dedicate own homage for Steven? It's looks like an "auction". It isn't my purpose. I want just homage to a special movie star and I love him so much. Any problem?

and for you "lady" (?),

go ahead..don't give up, can't you live without him? Ohhhhh, sorry, but..what about him? does he the same? Run...go...may be you need to do "cooper". Are you fat? I hope your career helps you to be "slim". Run up an down, may be you meet yourself. You look confused and "lost".

And another thing Madel, who's the possessive one here? You're the one coming out of nowhere and telling Steven that those love songs you posted are mutual...This is our love song, Steven...This one too...What do you mean? You mean you would like them to be, that you wish they were, right? I personally think that Steven would prefer a woman who would respect him, so I don't think he'd like a woman "telling" him anything, and I personally I wouldn't do that...I think you are the one who's treating him like a puppet, not me, and so quickly too...I personally can't believe it....

Ohhh noooo! you too? look everyone, I think this is just a pan or any kind of club, because I think this space means a Fan Site, where the people are free to homage a Movie Star named Steven Seagal. Is it? or am I in a mistake?

I'm here as a person who wants to dedicate admiration for Steven. Is it free? or do I have to pay any "value"? How much? In dollars or Euros?

I have special admiration for Steven and suppose to have "the right" to expose this. May I? or is this privilege just for "some kind of people"????.

This is a website dedicated to Steven Seagal, it isn't for spam, which is what the majority of this post has turned out to be.

Please keep off-topic romantic posts in the section created especially for them!! If this behaviour persists temporary bans will be issued because most site members and the staff are fed up with it!

Not a disadvantage.

I'm not short (6'1") yet I don't think that being short is a disadvantage at all. For one, you have a wider choice in automobiles. For instance, when choosing a sedan for our family, we were only limited to a few, as my dad couldn't fit into a few of them because of his height. So, having more choice is an advantage is what I say (but don't take me wrong, having height has its advantages as well).

I meant you, not Storm, Heather...I am a shorty, but I like them tall...Steven is the ultimate man...Tall, dark and handsome....
