Scammonden reservoir in West Yorkshire. I have cycled around that structure in the reservoir when i was young.

Storm--Great pics of that tower through that link! Was that you taking the shadow pic from the top of the tower? And pretty picture of the reservoir. Think you could still circle it now?

A road in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest, just outside Munising, Michigan, where I've spent countless hours just getting lost--on purpose. It doesn't get much more peaceful than this.

The same road in the summer. Even with bare limbs in the middle of winter, covered with snow, it's all beautiful to me.

Great pics,but you really must be careful in these places. There could be a right weirdo about like me! No i didn't take those pics,but the tower is awesome. I have done decorating on the support building complex nearby.
With my sense of direction i'd come out in New York...
Holme Moss in the outer reaches of Huddersfield,West Yorkshire. I have worked on the complex at bottom of tower. You can rarely see tower for the mist...

Oh, indeed. For hours and hours on end. Tranquility. Perfect word. Nothing like the national forests in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. For this Michigan girl, anyway.

Yep it's beautiful up there. So desolate..
It was a BBC broadcasting mast and the staff often slept over as they would get stranded in bad weather.

I live in the heavily populated area miles way,but not long to get up here...
