i just hope that this very damaging and hurtful allegation will go away and let Steven move on with his life and projects

It's far from over. From the first post I gather this Kayden must have signed an employment contract with an arbitration stipulation (like you would find in any credit card contract). All this means is instead of the case being sent before a standard jury/judge it will be heard by a panel of three arbitrators (think 3 judges). Seagal's side will pick one, she will pick one and then those two chosen will pick the final arbitrator. They would hear the case and decide whether or not to award damages. Employers/creditors like to arbitrate because it's fast, cheap, and there is no jury to sympathize with the "victim".

However, the judge who will review the motion in May does not have to grant it. In cases involving gross misconduct, it is not uncommon for a judge to deny the motion. The case may or may not go to arbitration. And make no mistake, if the motion is granted it doesn't mean Seagal is off the hook. Yes, he is likely better off because there would be no jury to sympathize with the young woman, but if she has a good lawyer he's going to have to open his wallet.

I'm no expert when it comes to civil litigation (formerly worked as a paralegal for the prosecutor's office) but I would not be surprised if the motion isn't granted.

While I don't have blind adoration for Seagal, this seems like a standard money grab to me. From what I understand Kayden never contacted the police so no investigation occurred. I've always been suspicious of people bypassing the criminal justice system and jumping right into a civil suit.

At least with arbitration there will be less media frenzy - Steven is too busy doing good works to be bothered by them. I daresay the girl wanted a huge amount of publicity and it ain't going that way. She will be disappointed! Now I know why she didn't go to the Police - she would have had to answer a lot of questions by experienced questioners.

I can't help but wonder what Steven is doing since filming of Lawman has stopped for now. We all know the A&E network needs their number one rated show back asap and we can't wait for it :)
