Steven Seagal Not Included In Top 10 Action Stars!!!

Seagal has not been included in the Top Ten Modern-Day Action Stars!!!I can´t believe it!!

I think this is the fact that Steven must think about his movies career and his legacy, because for the audience and the critics looks like he doesn´t exist anymore.

THE LIST SUCKS!!!ONLY SLY, ARNOLD, BRUCE WILLIS DESERVE THE RANKING, MAYBE CHRISTIAN BALE AT 10...AND HARRISON FORD AND MEL GIBSON FOR HIS CLASSIC COMMERCIAL ACTION MOVIES...BUT DANIEL CRAIG, KEANU REEVES...????

Daniel Craig, The Rock, and Christian Bale dont have the track record that Seagal has. Where is Jackie Chan and Jet Li(despite me not liking their type of wirefu)? What is Keanu Reaves doing on this list of top ten action heroes?

It sucks!!! my god what the hell is Kurt Russell doing there and as much as i like Mel Gibson i dont think he is worthy of being in the top 10 either..i can tolerate him not getting and oscars etc but him not being in the top 10 gives me the willies..dont worry Steven you will always be up there with the best of them in our eyes..

Or even Chuck Norris. Seagal should be in the top 5 without a doubt for top action stars over the last 20-30 years. I think the Keanu Reaves thing is a joke-who considers him an action star?

It's not so much as what Steven has done, as, what's he done lately.

All of those in the list are in movies theatrically released or about to be released. In other words, they're still box office draws.

Steven, unfortunately, hasn't done a theatrical release since 2001. Six years off the big screen, and it's unlikely he'll ever be a box office draw again. Too much time has passed, too many years off training, too many years out of the public's movie-going consciousness.

I saw the most disturbing diatribe on one of the entertainment shows last night - I think it was MTV at the movies, or something. The guy was expostulating at the ridiculousness of seeing people like Bruce Willis, Sly Stallone, Harrison Ford, etc. being in action movies simply because they're too old. Apparently, no one in their right minds (in Hollywood, presumably, where they have green-lighted their movies) should suppose that a geriartric action hero (I'm assuming what he meant by "geriatric" was anyone over the age of 40) was believable as an "action hero". These old guys should be in Miami on the beach with their walkers, not "trying" to be an action hero.

When was the last time we saw Arnold or Harrison Ford in a big screen movie and when was the time we ever saw Keanu as a action star?. I agree that its bad that hollywood has not been able to replace the old action stars and the only way you can see an old time action film is with Bruce or Harrison etc. Its too bad we lost Brandon Lee before he could get started.
The decade of the nineties was the decade for the great action stars and they have not been replaced yet. Who out there has the credentials to be an action star today- I dont see anyone.
I like Daniel Craig as an actor and as the new Bond but I would never think of including him in a list of the top ten action stars. What kind of action movie has Keanu done in his life--Maybe Speed back all those years ago and he quickly got away from that after they wanted to turn him into an action star. Come on: action stars are like Bruce Lee, Seagal, Norris, Li, Chan, Van Damme, or even Vin Diesel before the likes of Keanu etc. Harrison Ford's last action movie was what?. I'm sure Seagal has had a hit on the big screen since Harrison has; in fact I am sure of it.
Someone needs to educate me on what is considered an action star today. Why was'nt the guy from Bourne Identity or the Punisher or even Jason Statum on this list-they are way ahead of some on this list, but I would not include them on the top ten list either.

The title of the article says "MODERN DAY." I refuse to consider Seagal a modern day action star. As much as I love Seagal, I cannot tolerate his recent releases. His last fun action flick was Exit Wounds in 2001, 6 years ago. Seagal is not a box office draw, nor he is even worthy of theatrical releases. Seagal is not the house-hold name he once was in the late 80s and 90s.

Although if I were to make a list of all time greatest action stars, Seagal would definitely be in my top 10. But because of his recent career and complete lack of care and/or standards, Seagal doesn't belong on the list for modern day.

Christian Bale and Daniel Craig have one action hit and they're automatically worthy of the top ten modern day action star list. I love them both, but they shouldn't be on the list. Kurt Russell shouldn't be on there either, he should be celebrated for his roles that showcase his acting ability not for "Tango & Cash." Mel Gibson...his last action movie was in the 90s? Plus the fact that he scares the livin' bejesus outta me.

I think Jason Statham should definitely be on that list.

Jerk comes to mind..'geriartric' my god his is only 56 ?..these actors that are still 'wet behind the ears' (newcomers) could learn an thing or two from the 'old fellas' i know whom i prefer and trust...as far as movies are concerned...i guess iam stuck in my ways and dont intend to change...

If its modern day what is Arnold and Harrison and Keanu and Kurt Russell doing on that list? Arnold and Harrison is modern day? Most of the others are not pure action stars but make more of the cartoon type action movies-Batman and Bond movies.
Mel is definately not modern day either-and neither was Bruce until he just got a hit with the new installment of Die Hard.
Its just that a lot of the guys on this list have'nt had a hit since the 80's so I never thought they were talking modern day.
I guess they dont consider Li, Chan, Tony Ja, Jason Statham to be action stars in the modern era. Yea, Keanu is definately a bigger action star than them..What a stupid list it is and if you think this is a legit list-modern or career wise I want some of what your smoking.

as i've always said of American box-office theater owners and movie critics, "they're narrow minded, jealous, and lack the gift to recognize cinematic talent of Steven Seagal's theatrics". At some point in future times though, these American box office theater owners and film critics will either pay respect to Steven Seagal or lose out on receiving a boost to their businesses from movie goers. I can see why Steven Seagal has departed the United States for a better and healthier film career. Who would want to kiss the a**es of movie theater owners and critics ? I know Steven Seagal doesn't ! But i'm sure all of these stars mentioned on this list are sucking up and kowtowing to these box office theater owners/critics to help their film careers, which to my observation are sh&t.

Yea, I call it fake fu and so many so called action stars of today have taken it up.
I really dont consider Bond movies and Sci-fi movies like The Matrix(which I liked) or Raiders of the Lost Ark to be movies that real action stars would be in. To me the only action movie Keanu did that was a hit was Speed and he has'nt really made an action movie since. I liked Arnie but how long has he been in retirement or has he made some action movies over the last few years that I am not aware of? A lot of the guys on the list were action stars of the nineties or even 80's when Seagal was right there with them.

Terminator 3 was released in 2003, so that makes Arnold eligible for "modern day".

Matt Damon was "the guy" in the Bourne movies. I don't consider him an "action" movie star because that's not his trademark, he just happened to be in a couple of action movies (three, now, I think the third Bourne is coming out/has come out?). Same as Keanu. I agree Jason Statham should be on the list even though his movies are heavily CGI-enhanced, but he's not that big of a box office draw, I guess.

Keanu being on the list is a strange choice. However, I think that The Matrix (the first one anyway) remains one of the best sci-fi action movies of recent times. Point Break was a good action thriller also, although it's hardly recent.

The only action movie Daniel Craig has been in is the (admittedly awesome) Casino Royale. But if he is in the list on the strength of one movie then surely Roger Moore should be in it too?!

So when did the modern era start? I thought the nineties was pretty modern day. If modern era started in 2000 Seagal still had two movies release at the theatres--Half Past Dead and Exit Wounds.
Jason Statham is not a bad action star but there are no serious action stars out there nowadays and that is why Bruce is still making Die Hard movies. Have you seen Arnold lately? They still would offer him another terminator as long as he can walk. Seagal was recently offered US3(which he turned down for the quicker buck in STV movies). Seagal was even offered the role of the main bad guy in the new Rush Hour. There just is no Eastwoods, Bronsons, Seagals etc out there to replace the 50 plus action stars of days gone by. I can watch an action movie with Crowe or Denzel and they are pretty good. American Gangster is coming out later this year and a movie called "War" with Jet Li and Jason Statham is coming out soon but hard core action movies are a thing of the past.

Action movies now are all about the CGI. The suspension of disbelief in these movies is getting harder and harder to swallow. Everyone knows it's a special effect, and it's become so commonplace, it's practically a yawn. "Action movies" are now about what the guys down in IT can come up with, not what the star can realistically do himself. CGI and wire fu has pretty much destroyed the action movie genre.

And stunt doubles in Steven's movies have pretty much destroyed his standing as an action star, so I'm not surprised he's not on the list. Walking onto the set, looking grim for a couple of camera shots and then walking off the set while the stunt doubles do all the real work does not, in my opinion, qualify the "name" - be it Steven or anyone else - as an "action star". The movie might be an action movie, but stunt doubles do not an action movie star make.

Sorry. It's one of the reasons that I've stopped watching his films post Out of Reach. It's almost embarrassing to watch the stunt doubles when I know he's perfectly capable of doing the work himself. I feel like I'm being cheated.
