Has anyone thought about emailing Joe Halpin and asking him what the storyline is for Shadows of the Past since threre seems to be conflicting reports about it?

I sent an email to Joe Halpin in regards to Shadows of the Past. He was kind enough to respond. It seems the film is set during modern times and is a thriller. I'd say this film is NOT linked to the WW2 set drama of a similar name. Hope you find this interesting.

Joe did say that Steven worked VERY hard on this film and that he thinks his fans will truly like this one.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but Joe Halpin and Steven Seagal are also working on 'Prince Of Pistols'. Source : http://www.joehalpin.com/Bio.html

The website is annoyingly vague about what "working with Steven Seagal" actually means - they could just be writing the film together or producing it, it doesn't necessarily mean Steven will be starring in it.

Should I post this as a possible 2006 project for Steven, do you think, Craig and suzi?

So, as far as I can tell, Joe Halpin's only claim to fame is that he's written or co-written Steven's last few movies. He's not actually a real screenwriter, he just took it up and got lucky because he got "in" with a movie star almost right from the get go.

Interesting.

You know, this is really weird. I've just done a search on Bey Logan, on the internet and IMDB, and there is no evidence that I can find that he's got anything to do with Steven's Shadows of the Past, as a writer, or producer or anything, and yet this was a project that was supposed to have been done in conjunction with Steven's former chief of security now turned producer, Jimmy Moy.

Joe Halpin is listed as the sole writer of the film on IMDB.

I guess the original "Shadows of the Sun" (the period piece premise) got rewritten out of existence and turned into a whole complete different movie.

Despite my misgivings, I think it would have been interesting to see Steven in something other than the usual thing he does.

Scripted by Logan ("The Medallion"), it will feature Seagal as a burned-out former intelligence officer who runs a medical clinic in Japan just after WWII...

Plot: He's playing a former CIA operative who has been framed for killing so many fellow agents, he's become the object of a shoot-on-sight directive.
