But when do we get to see Mercenary? I think it's not before Today You Die. But it says that Mercenary will be released in 2005. This has to be in December then. Wow! From October on, every month a new Seagal film!!!!!!!!!!!
But this is strange: 28th October, release of Today You Die. 1st November, release of Black Dawn (imdb).

The only little quirk i have about his movies are that i wish he would change the storylines abit they are all the same in an way ...he better get that big beautiful brain thinking different stories..like in stead of him always being an cop or some sort of other agency maybe he should just be an normal joe ...but he would never listen to an fan for any ideas..

I quite agree...

...they all seem to be the same. When looking at a thread today about his direct to dvd films, I found it hard to remember which one was which. I think the worst has to be the Foreigner. have a look at my thread from yesterday..'The Master', see what you think.

Have a good weekend all!

I post the information as it is found. The members here are very good at sniffing out release dates; I collect them and put them into the list so they are easy to reference.

At the moment, with lawsuits pending around "Today You Die" and "Mercenary", it's anybody's guess if these two films will even be released, despite what's been posted.

I suspect they will be released because at the end of the day Nu Image will want to make money. The fact they've already spent money on reshoots and hiring composers to do the scores would suggest they will be released.

TDWoj

Not if the cost of the lawsuits exceeds the cost of making the films. They'd never be able to recoup their losses.

greg boyd

Greg Boyd
ok thanks TDWoj. i hope these films are released, how can they not release them because all the money thats already went into them. Althought the 14 million seagal has been sued for might be meant to cover the costs of this.

I've just spoken with someone at Sony in Australia. They said that the lawsuit, which they were vaguely aware of, will probably not affect the release of Today You Die becasue Sony have already purchased the rights. The only drawback could be that Nu Image would return their money and take back the license on the film, but they said that's highly unlikely because if the film is bad, Nu Image will be wanting to make as much cash on it as possible to recoup their loss.

As I posted in another thread, Today You Die has been rated R for Strong Violence and Pervasive Language, so it looks like Nu Image are going ahead with the release, why else would they bother getting it rated?
