As part of my history course iam doing we are starting off with Aboriginal studies and i have choosen the 'stolen generation' if you want to find about this terrible thing that happened to our Aborigines please watch an movie called 'Rabbit Proof Fence' just be prepared for some shocking things ok.. and tissues may be needed ..any way just abit about the 'stolen generation' its how over 6,200 aborigine children were taken from there parents and put into foster homes and missions and the children were taken mostly by force till this day there is still alot of hatred and guilt and mistrust and all sorts of othere emotions very raw ...most of the children stolen were females because they could be be controlled better the the male children the female children were made do cooking and be servants were the male children were trained up to be stock men. i have read some parents commited suicide because of what happened and some have become depressed, lost conact with there religious beleifs , even have killed others and why? all be cause of the white man ...i do know an couple of aborigine families i grew up with many years ago and i guess its just desserts when i say an few of them have got jobs that the white man went for.. iam just beginning this project and what ever i may find thats just heart breaking i will still with it and make my teacher proud.. i have never done things in halves before and sure as hell at starting now.. so yeah take at look at that movie 'Rabbit Proof Fence' love to hear some comments i may be even able to answer some questions..
