About:Rush Hour-3

According to Variety, Chris Tucker just rejected the script penned by Jeff Nathanson, who also wrote the second Rush Hour. Jackie Chan has already said he did not like the series but he would do it again for his fans. If both leads are not happy about the project, just let it end now.

Jackie's New Gym In Hong Kong!

Hong Kong Opening of Jackie's New Gym

At the Hong Kong opening of the California Fitness Jackie Chan Sport Club, Jackie told people to "get off their couches and exercise!"

"I want to use exercises to change people's lives," Chan said at the opening of his "Jackie Chan Sport" club in Hong Kong.

He said young people today "use too much (of their) time surfing the Internet and playing computer games. . .They forget that exercising should be a big part of their lives."

"If you don't exercise, your body will keep deteriorating," he said.

He has developed a unique blend of kung fu and boxing called Jackie Chan "Boxercise" for the gym, a partnership with the U.S.-based California Fitness health club chain.

Chan said the Hong Kong "Jackie Chan Sport" club will only be one of many to come across Asia. He will be opening shops in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Singapore and is eyeing more outlets in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Shanghai. (Source: AP)

Good for him! :) It's great to see him receive an honor like this. He does always appear to be a very humble person, and I've read that he's very generous and giving, and a joy to work with. I hadn't read this in the news yet, so thanks for posting, Suzi! :)

Chan Says Tucker Holding Up 'Rush Hour 3'

HONG KONG (AP) - Jackie Chan says the third installment of "Rush Hour'' is stuck in neutral because co-star Chris Tucker is making too many demands.

"He wants too much power. The movie company hasn't obliged. He wants final editing rights and the final look at the movie and so on,'' Chan told The Associated Press Thursday.

Chan called Tucker a "good friend'' but questioned whether he had the stature to be so demanding.

"He's still a new actor,'' Chan, 51, said. "How many movies has he made? Two movies have already made him very famous and made him a lot of money.''

"He needs to learn slowly,'' he added.

A call by The Associated Press to Tucker's publicist, Samantha Mast, wasn't returned Friday.

While "Rush Hour 3'' remains in limbo, Chan said he's going ahead with another project - one with famed Chinese director Zhang Yimou. Zhang's recent films include "House of Flying Daggers'' and "Hero.''

Chan declined to reveal details of the movie, saying only that it would be "galvanizing'' and is set in the 1980s. He said the idea is his, but Zhang will work on the script.

"He relies on imagination ... like an arrow flying through water,'' said Chan. "He has elevated the martial arts genre. I believe he can make any type of movie now.''

How recent was this TD? In Inside Kung-Fu Magazine Jackie and Chris already confirmed they were starting to shoot it.

It was recent, as of the day I posted it. A movie can start being shot without it necessarily being principal photography. Second unit stuff, that doesn't involve the principal players.

While reviews for Jackie Chan's THE MYTH have been mixed leaning towards negative, box office returns have been nothing but positive. After three days in theatres, the blockbuster has pulled in HK$6.23 million -- the second biggest opening for a HK film in 2005 (behind INITIAL D which made HK$11.14 million in its initial three days). In fact, THE MYTH outperformed the opening of Chan's last HK film NEW POLICE STORY. Almost exactly one year ago, the latest chapter in Chan's POLICE STORY saga had a HK$5.77 million three-day opening. The question now will be if THE MYTH can sustain its box office momentum against mixed reviews and competition from Andy Lau's WAIT 'TIL WE'RE OLDER and Sammi Cheng's EVERLASTING REGRET. Stay tuned.
- Source Hong Kong Entertainment News.

So has anyone seen this movie yet? Here's a review. Doesn't sound too good to me. :(

I have The Myth on DVD, since Christmas infact and it's a pretty mixed up affair, it's Jackie bringing in something new, while keeping something old, what is the new you ask? well, it's the period costume epic, something Jackie has never really done before, sure, he's done movies set in the early 20th century but nothing as for back as the Ming era of China. Also he's trying his hand at molding a new persona, instead of just Jackie Chan the action in this, we have Jackie Chan the actor. during his scenes as a ming era general he falls in love with a korean princess, who becomes torn between his loyalty to his king and saving the women he loves.

On the other side of things, we have scenes set in the modern world, where Jackie plays his usual bag of tricks, he goes someplace, gets into trouble accidentally and gets out of it the only way Jackie can, fight, now this would bother except I'm such a Chan fan boy I love anything this man outs out..well...almost anything...The Tuxedo..**shudders**

Overall it's a messy movie but you have to understand Jackie is experimenting with changing his screen image so the finished results would be all over the place.

As for new Chan projects on the horizon, it seems principal photography is taking place for his new movie entitled Rob-B-Hood, in it Jackie plays a crook who hatches a plan to kidnap a baby from a wealthy couple.

Originally the film was conceived as to reunite Jackie with his Kung Fu "brothers" Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, unfortunately things fell apart and now only Yuen Biao makes a quick cameo as a police inspector.

filming is still going strong, with a couple action sequences finished, the film is due for release later this year.

I'm a little annoyed that Chris Tucker will be receiving a higher paycheck then Jackie, I hope Chris' character gets slapped around a lot in this one.
I know it doesn't make sense. I think there are many more people in the world who watch the movie because it is a Jackie Chan film, not because Chris Tucker is in it.

I'm pretty sure Jackie Chan has enough money anyway. :D

I will be seeing to support Jackie's Hollywood projects, believe me, he needs all the help he can get in that market, as for his Hong Kong projects? All I can do is buy the DVD but as they say, every little helps.
