I see over on the ActionKings website they have now listed a dedication page to veteren tough guy actor Charles Bronson. About time too me thinks, as I believe he is probably the inspiration for a lot of the action/tough guys that were produced in the eighties who in turn have inspired a lot of the action heroes we have nowadays. Just look at who has decended from him -: Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris etc and more importantly - our very own Steven Seagal. To me, he and Bronson our very similar in the roles they play and the way they play them. They both don't say much, both are minimalistic actors and they both are prone to extreme violence!
Bronson is from the old school of Hollywood tough guys, which included the like of Lee Marvin, Robert Mitchum, Steve McQueen, Lee Van Cleef, James Coburn etc and the only living similar type of actor from that era left is the king himself, Clint Eastwood.
The passing of Bronson will be the end of an era indeed so lets hope there are a few years left in the old dog yet.
Here's a list of some of his finest films.
* Once Upon A Time In The West (1968)
* The Mechanic (1972)
* The Stone Killer (1973)
* Mr Majestyk (1974)
* Death Wish (1974)
* Hard Times (1975)
* Ten To Midnight (1983)
* Murphy's Law (1986)
Any other Bronson fans on this board?
Peace.
