latinojazz said:Dear Mason, do you know The Real Book? It´s great to learn to play GUITAR or PIANO with it great standard songs.I recommend too The Complete Beatles Songbook.
Trust me, I´m a proffesional musician and teacher, and the most important thing an unnoficial Steven Seagal fan brother:
WAY OF LEARNING:
15 minutes EVERYDAY(not only four hours on Saturdays, always daily training, 15-20minutes enough, AND I PROMISE TO YOU THAT IN SIX MONTHS YOU CAN PLAY AND SING ALL THE BEATLES SONGS!!!!(And if you have creativity you will write your own songs too)
If not, i will return to you all the money you spend(That it will be a couple of bucks, you can learn without being a richman)
AH!!Only one thing more, buy a chords books for the logical doubts in some chords.
1-Choose the song you want to learn(The best choice is a song that you have heard before)
2-Practise smoothly the chords you are going to play
3-Play,play,play
4-Play,play,play and sing,sing,sing,sing
5-Play,play,play,sing,sing,sing,sing and ENJOY,ENJOY,ENJOY

I play a lot of different styles, and enjoy also playing blues too. I have great respect for Seagal, he's a good player, and has a very unique and strange way of playing, similar to Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits)
Best guitarist IMO: Joe Satriani, an absolute genius, crosses many styles makes sounds come from a guitar you couldn;t even fathom and he plays amazing stuff.

It;s a really good album a blending of classical, blues, jazz, flamenco, but just about great playing and creating great sounds from just two acoustic guitars. I got given this album for nothing and always listen to it for relaxation.

Flamenco...it is the only thing the foreigners(Not Spaniards)can´t to well.
One must be born in Andalucia, Spain, and must be called Paco de Lucia to say that play flamenco.
The rest of the influences, like Steve Vai, Satriani, and all that club...Everybody do the same. The play superb, but is very bored.
