Serena said:Folks, my whole point in my first post here was this. We've seen this countless times, and many others have noticed this with me. A new member signs up, his VERY FIRST POST is to claim to be a fan, but then criticizes Steven Seagal, lists all his bad points, says why he shouldn't be acting any more, and then walks away and watches the sh*t hit the fan. 99% of the time they never come back, or if they do, they return a couple months later and do the same thing. Don't believe me? Have you ever known Serena to lie to you?
Did any of you regular members ever do that? Even the ones here who don't care for his latest movies or the stunt doubles or voices or whatever. That's fine. I like you and respect your opinion, even if I disagree. But did any of you come on and with your FIRST POST start criticizing? I don't think so in 99.9% of you.
Now, "Charles Bronson", if I'm mistaken about you and your intentions, then I will sincerely apologize to you here on the forum. But I'll wait to see what happens first.
Reservoir Dog said:Yes, Serena you are right. I havent been here long enough to witness this kind of thing. I dont know why you would pretend to be a fan and bother signing up if all you wanted to do is cause problems. Sorry if you are upset.
Charles Bronson said:First of all I want to say hi to all members of this great website. I come from Germany and I´ve been a fan of Steven Seagal since 1988 when his first movie "Above the Law" came out. At the beginning of his career Seagal´s martial arts ability for the screen was unbelievable. The fight scenes in "Above the Law", Hard to Kill, Marked for Death, Out for Justice, Under Siege and On deadly Ground were amazing. But after his directorial debut(Ground) he changed in every single way. He gained a lot of weight, his clothes were unusual for an Hollywood actor and the fight scenes were not as great as in his first movies.
I personally find it very disturbing to see a heavy overweight Seagal with that kind of clothes. I never ever saw an overweight action star.
Do you remember how the great Charles Bronson did look in his movie "Hard Time" in which he palyed a boxer?
Unbelievable muscular when you think that Bronson was 54 years old in 1974.
All the great martial artists such as Chuck Norris and so on have a normal figure. I don´t understand why Seagal is eating all the time...
His last good movie was "Exit Wounds" in my opinion but only because mega producer Joel Silver forced Seagal to lose weight.
His last movies were so bad I don´t find any words...
B-Movies not getting into theater´s, C-Director´s . They even dubbing his voice.
I never ever heard about that..- they dubbing his voice..-why?????????
I can´t understand that.
If "Into the Sun" doesn´t get a theatrical release then his career is over because his new movie "Submerged" is again a direct DVD release.
I always thought that Seagal is a man of honor but why does he make so many B/ C-Movies?
Just for the money?
I would say: Steven retire from the movie business and make plans to continue your music thing....
My last hope is really "Into the Sun"!!!

Charles Bronson said:I know that you don´t want any bad comments about Seagal here be written.
But I´m not only a fan but also a realist.
It seems to me that his time is up.
And I think you know it unless "Into the Sun" get a theatrical release.

Charles Bronson said:I use the name "Charles Bronson" because I´m a huge fan of him.
Bronson and Seagal are my favourite action stars ever although I must confess that Bronson is the better actor of course.
He made movies that are classic, for example:
1. Once a time in the west
2. The great escape
3. The magnificient Seven
4. The dirty dozen
5. Death Wish
6. Hard Times
7. Mr. Majestic
8. The Mechanic
I think that Steven Seagal like Charles Bronson.
What do you think?
Nico said:Is his career over? I don't think so. We all know the man can act, he has just been delt a few bad scripts lately. Give the man a desent movie and som good co-acters and I belive we will see him on the big screen again. As for insulting him or other members of this forum, that is a NO NO, if you don't have anything constructive or nice to say, keep your fingers of the keyboard.
I hope he will continue to make movies for many years yet, wether it is DTV or theatrical releases is not that big a deal, as long as he keep making movies. We are all fans of him for different reasons, we respect him and love him, and hope that he will be around for a long time. If anyone is here just to trash him, you can go away.
Most acters use stunt doubles for different reasons, I agree that as a martial artist it is somwhat strange to choose to do that, but we don't know the reason why he does, so it would be pure spculation on our part. As for voice doubles, this I do not understand, as your voice is so much a part of your persona. A movie with Steven Seagal but without his voice is not helping the movie. Just my oppinion.

I never comment, usually just read, but I couldn't let this subject pass me by. This site is for Steven Seagal by his fans and therefore I don't think there should be any negativity here at all. I feel it's best to only write good things. (In my opinion) Better to build up ones self esteem than tear it down. Makes one want to strive to do better for people who love and care about them.
Some of these remarks are not even worth commenting on. Steven is and always will be the best there is, in my heart. His music and movies are the best. His career is by no means over as long as we love and support him. That's what this site is all about, loving "Steven Seagal"
Thanks for listening,
Yvette
