Steven Seagal is Submerged Source: Emmett/Furla Films Wednesday, January 14, 2004

Emmett/Furla Films Productions Corporation has announced that it has completed negotiations with international action star Steven Seagal to top-line an additional picture which is slated to begin principal photography on April 1st.

Anthony Hickox will direct Submerged, which Emmett/Furla Films' Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce with Paul de Souza. Colin Green wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and Paul de Souza.

Co-chairs Randall Emmett and George Furla stated: "We are happy to, once again, be working with Steven Seagal. He has always delivered solid, exciting performances for us and we believe coupling him with 'Submerged' will make for an action-packed film that will hopefully appeal to a broad audience. This project is the perfect fit for Family Room Entertainment."

Following Submerged, Emmett/Furla Films will produce a second picture with Steven Seagal entitled, Repentance.

April 1, thats my Birthday. I'm turning 26 But the best news is that www.comingsoon.net only puts up news about Theatrical released movies..never straight to dvd/video movies.

Why did they change it? It was originally suppose to go to theaters? Any specific reason?

It don't mind the STV ones at all, a bonus is we get to see the STV movies faster, as you know I can never wait... Although I do wish him the most success as always, and of course I definately deeply care what happens with him, I want him to do well because I adore him, but I think the STV was a smart move, can't deny the DVD market is hot right now...The big screen movies do get more advertising, which is good, but I am satisfied as long as I get to see my Steven...But seeing him "live" would be even nicer...Sigh...Maybe someday...

Its just not as fun as the BIG screen where you get to sit in a room of all diverse people and watching their reactions to Seagal Sensei.

Into the Sun's start was delayed by a couple of months, so it's likely all of the other projects got pushed back as well.

Resevoir Dog, if you go to the index page, we have a thread - strictly speculative, mind you - of Steven's possible location and what he will be doing. Submerged and Mercenary are Emmett/Furla productions, and we got the information from our member justice808 (there are links somewhere around - I'll try and find them and post them in the itinerary).

As I said, it's all speculative. We were expecting Into the Sun to start shooting in January, according to previous information we had found, but it didn't, in fact, start shooting until late March, therefore pushing all the other projects back.

I have seen no information at all about Unleashed. It's possible this project is no longer a go - who here had the latest info on that? (TD sends her enquiry into the ether hoping for a response)

Information on IMDB is notoriously unreliable particularly as regards projects upcoming or supposedly in pre-production or even in production, so I wouldn't count on that as gospel. Mostly we just wait until the movie comes out - then we know for sure it was done!
