Did I hear Pizza!! :D Why don't you take the pizza, sit on the sofa, dim the lights, and put on a nice old classic Seagal film??

The pizza is gone, you should not invest in food!! It doesn't last! If I had purchased Submerged I could be watching that and posting a review!

Just doing my daily duty. I am modest. I do not require sweet words of appreciation. Just glad to help :) Actually I am about to make some frozen pizzas myself. You got me inspired. I need energy :)

For breakfast!! Mine was Pappa John's deluxe, do they have those in Canada!?

What is that film on your post, who is that guy? It looks like a young Nicholas
Cage! ;)

I think I am about to have those frozen bagel looking pizzas. Small in size but quite filling :)

The film is Brian De Palmas Snake Eyes(Through Cage isn't very young there. But as I say preserved well). Hitchcock inspired and very underrated Thriller. The second clip is from Brian De Palmas Mission Impossible.

What are you doing up this early by the way? I know I have to go visit someone in an hour but you should get some sleep :)

P.S Oops almost forgot to answer your Question. To be honest I am not positive but I think we do. Basically we have everything you have in the US but sometimes it takes us ages to get. Fast Food Industry is a great example. It took us three years to get those KFC honey dipped sandwiches. And we still don't have the BBQ and Honey Ribs etc It gets complicated but we seem to be on the loosing end.

Bagel Bites, I knew the Mission Impossible, so that is Cage? I saw a clip of a movie he was in years ago "Moon Struck" I had forgotten! I like him!!
I do not sleep well, I am going to try and lay down but I will end up watching IMUS!

Moonstruck is a masterpiece :) Cher won an Oscar and everyone in that film was simply spectacular. A Great comedic gem. Great writing, Direction, and performances. I think I must have seen the film forty times :)

What is IMUS?

I am coming back soon and taking a nap. I haven't had much sleep yet. I had company, then was busy writing, and then didn't the see the point of failing asleep for three hours. So I just listened to classical on the Radio.

Until then I must sadly say Goodbye.

I am about to get some rest but here’s one more: Quite an amusing read :)

It's a very VERY bad movie but I enjoyed it...........

I've just rented this and it's a hard one to rate. Its a bad film in almost every way except for Vinne Jones who is the only saving grace of the whole thing however having said that, I really enjoyed it and for me it's probably the most enjoyment I've had from a Seagal movie second to Belly Of The Beast since Half Past Dead. I'd also like to say could someone please give Vinne Jones his own action movie. His one liner's were great and the fight scene with the sniper about an hour and 10 minutes into the movie was the movies high point and pure Vinne Jones even topping the car door slamming scene from Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. Jones is at his best playing this type of character. I'd also like to say that Alison King is a babe and deserves better than this and she is another plus for renting this. The direction by Anthony Hickox is terrible, Seagal's dialogue is terrible, as said in another review about 80% of his lines are dubbed, he sits down for most of the movie and we only ever see his fat face in half shadow, he wears massive leather coats regardless of the fact that he is supposedly in some very hot South American country while the locals wear t-shirts and look like they are sweating to death and you could start a drinking game while watching this called spot Seagals body double. Seagal also seems to have developed a bad case of torrets with a hilarious sudden outburst of c*ck sucker motherf**ker during one scene for no apparent reason and the line is delivered with the most energy I've heard Seagal deliver a line since probably Under Siege! It's also quite clear that Seagal is not even in the same room while supposedly delivering his lines to other actors and at times his dialogue doesn't make any sense. The spy plane at the beginning was the first of many laughs I got from the movie. It looked like something out of the Thunderbirds or from cut scene from Team America and for a minute I was wondering if I'd been given the right DVD at the rental store. All these things add up to an enjoyable 90 minutes with a few good laughs to be had at Seagals expense, the cheap special effects and Vinne Jones' character. I would probably recommend this as a rental only but I might pick it up cheap if I came across it in the bargain bin sometime in the future if only for Vinne Jones and that fight with the sniper.

Care to specify? I mean "same of you" to me sort of implies the general opinion people have of me on this site. Which isn't all that nice :) Or do you mean you agree with me as in "same as yours" etc I don't know whether I should interpret this an in insult or a compliment :)

P.S That Review wasn't written by me. But believe me as soon as I get my hands on this Film you should expect one. I might even find the motivation to make it two pages in length. And considering his latest movies this Review won't be nice.

I re-watched Submerged yesterday... And i still have to say it isn't that bad :)

You don't think there is a interesting storyline with lot of different locations, lot of suspense and so on?!

Oh, dear... I just checked the upcoming DVD releases on my service provider's entertainment page. Films are rated out of six stars.

Submerged didn't get any. Not even half a star.

Oh, dear.

"You don't think there is a interesting storyline with lot of different locations, lot of suspense and so on?"

Yes, the Storyline was interesting back in the 60's. I believe the film was called The Manchurian Candidate. In our day and age there is very little Originallity. When ever you see an American Film and think to yourself that its actually something new and creative I suggest you check IMDB for "movie connections". There's a good chance of it being a Remake.

I have visited Bulgaria twice actually. And yes it is quite beautiful in terms of a Location. But because these films are so low budget they really do not show off these Locations well. And while this is a good Location it isn't really too exotic or mesmerizing.

As far as suspense well Anthony Hickox is no John Frankenheimer. What he is an untalented hack with a long history of such lackluster releases. He has no artistic vision and I would never in my life would get excited seeing his name attached to a project. There is absolutely no justification in people defending him. How he is still making movies simply puzzles me.

"Submerged didn't get any. Not even half a star"

Well perhaps if more such Reviews/Polls started to surface Steven would get the message.

big gulps huh
I finally got a chance to watch the movie a few days ago, I dont even know what to say. It was bad, very bad. It's not worth my time writing the same stuff thats already been said. Im just feeling real sad right now, its a real shame that Seagal has become the man he is today.

I saw "Submerged" in German yesterday. And i really loved this movie. The Story ist good and Seagal looked better than in BotB or ItS. The two fight-scenes were very good and the other action sequences too.
I think, Seagal is on the right path. And I hope, that Today You Die will be better.

8/10

Submerged is the best step forward to Steven career and obviolusly, his best DTV film:

1-The intro is original:¨....I order, you obey...¨
2-The music is very proffesional not as Out for a kill that is a ****
3-Steven is not the producer-Good point at this time
4-The cast is really good(Vinnie Jones, the big colonel of the big boat, the black girl...etc) and the money is well distribuited in the photography, etc
5-The movie is enjoyable and that´s very important to the audience. As Steven fan, I missed more time for him,but his fights are good, specially with the black¨tower¨guy with his black suit.
6-Steven share the action to another guys and then results an almost non stop-action nice.

The only bad thing are the overdubbings. But the movie looks almost as a big budget movie. Not original, but a really good flick to buy or rent.

Love, guys

Since I don't want to be repetitive let me Quote a poster from imdb whose comment is slightly differently worded and quite amusing(Through the message stayed the same as mine):

"Is his family held hostage and is forced to star in these films? Or is he on drugs and must take every job to support his habit? Before he retires (not soon enough at this rate) he must go back to his roots and make one good movie (comparatively) like Under Siege or Nico that has at least some plausibility and entertainment (not just unintentional comedy)"

P.S Minor changes made to the Original Post.

I suppose latinojazz's comment was directed at me in a negative fashion after all. Through I clearly stated that it wasn't my Review. My own would probably shred this movie to pieces. It's a bit childish to say "That’s what I think of you". I mean do I attempt to impersonate a Cajun accent? Use Body Doubles? Clarifying yourself would really help matters :)

Glimmer you aren't alone mate. I feel like a few of us are getting ignored. Half the time I feel like most fanatics want me tarred and feathered. Then taken in a wheelbarrow to a pole and tied up. Then have them throw tomatoes at me :)

Ah the joy in being a critic. Makes this sweet nectar called Life taste so much sweeter :)

I agree. This was way better then ITS and even if Stevens actionscenes were few, there was a lot of actions with others. Vinnie Jones was really good in this one and I must say I enjoyed the whole movie. As others has said, it was kind of a "US3". Not as good as a real US3 could be but almost.

I'm just curious about something, Robert; with Steven being in fewer action scenes, overweight, practically invisible in the shadows, and 80% of his voice dubbed, how, exactly, does this make Submerged a really good Steven Seagal movie? Or is it a good movie because of everything else in it EXCEPT for Steven? And how can this be good, and why is this the direction fans seem to want him to take?

I watch Steven Seagal films to see Steven do his own fight scenes, say his own lines and well, just be able to see him (not to mention have a good storyline, interesting characters and good production values, which the majority of those reviewing said it didn't have).

See, this is what I don't get, and I guess I need someone to explain it to me.

:(

I guess I'm just curious about something, TD. ;) How do you know all this when you haven't seen the movie yet--and said you wouldn't spend your money on it? :D Just taking some peoples' word for it?  :D

Hey, Robert. :) Good to see you back! Nice review. :)
