Julie-gheez girl, your views are very welcome here and you're not being shunned. OK? Please don't think silly things like that. We all have different beliefs and habits and quarks ... the world would be very boring if all the flowers were exactly the same ... God loves us all and does not favor anyone over another - He loves us all equally. So should we love each other as He does us :) ... enjoy the variety of His Beautiful Garden!
Sending a big hug!

Can you tell it is that time of the month? Two days ago I was tossing tongue and cheek humor. Now I feel very serious, sensitive, and moody. I have a couple of children hitting that stage. Remembering what it was like being a teenager i could just cry. My mother got her wish. "I hope you get children just like you." I wasn't a bad teen. Just a pain in the neck. We sound like a bunch of hissing cats right now. Lord, help my husband; because he is the only male in the house stuck in the middle of this.:D When you are having a sever case of PMS, it sounded like Believers were "bad" and can do no right; and others can do so much for other people. Be patient with me please. I think its going to be a long week. Sorry for the misinterpretation.:) thanks Julie

I was raised a christian though I haven't gone to church for some years and became upset with some of the practices. For example, confessing your sins to a priest, only being able to accept communion after having confession, only having confession if you'll confess all your sins and that at that time you must honestly believe you will do everything possible to stop that sin again, and that christianity is the only religion. Also christian churches around here spend only 10 minutes on the bible and the other 50 on who-knows-what. I just think it's nuts. I'm very interested in Buddism, Zen, and some other things. I do believe there is a God though, I'm not sure there is only one religion that is right. I think they are all right. I definately have faith I'm just not sure what church if any I should attend so I don't.

ZenLateralas, I only confess to God, not another immortal. They are human. God knows my shortcommings. That is enough. The whole world doesn't need to know, that is for sure. Take your prayers and mistakes to the top I say. God is the only one who can really help a person overcome their faults. Must be I don't trust or lein on him enough for I still have them, or am not really ready to give them up!? Yes, another fault (or bad habit) of mine. You know, like chocolate to the thighs. Habits that usually end up hurting only yourself. Are you the one who said that they were taught that when Jesus died and before He arose from the grave that he went to hell? I was wondering where that came from? It is not in the Bible. Is it? Just curious.:)

Julie-I believe I was the one who mentioned the bit about "and Jesus died and went to hell for three days" ... it was part of the creed we had to recite in church - a Presbyterian one. I attended it during my youth because it was just down the street and my mother could watch me walk there and back when she had to stay at home to care for my ailing grandmother. At the age of 12 something deep inside my heart told me that creed was simply not true and that is what began my search for God. Needless to say I did not attend that church for much after that.
Now, I pray to God within my Heart.

Something to think about...

Jesus was not a Christian...

Oh the Creed...

Something else we owe to the Council of Nicea. Everything that came out of it was not practiced by Jesus. Those sweet Romans...

Proof? I see no argument here.

LOL - Jesus a christian, a jew!

How about some proof anybody, about any of this?

Jalu: here's something else for you to think about - EVOLUTION!

I believe the "descended into hell" was a mistranslation of the original Greek, taking Hades = hell, where, in fact, the correct translation was, "He descended to the dead". Hell, in the context, was not "Hell" where Satan rules, but "hell" - the Greek (of the antiquities) concept of the land of the dead.

I've got notes about this somewhere, and if I could find the original Greek version of the prayer, I'd be able to tell you for sure.

Jesus was a Jew!
However, "Christanity" was not "formed" until several years
after He arose from the dead!!

Man being the type of person that believes if he can't see
it or touch with his own hands then it doesn't exist.
Oooo!!! Someone decided that since a gorilla can walk upright
like a man, therefore that must be where we came from!!

Horsefeathers!!! There may very well be some "people" in
this world that have relatives still swinging in the trees but
that's not where mine came from!! If one cannot explain
something, then one gives it a name, thus.......evolution!!

Man did not "evolve" at the beginning of this earth, he was
put here, formed from the dust of the earth and then God
breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and he became a
living soul!!

This is the way I was taught and in all of my 64 years I have
found nothing to change my mind!
It's my opinion.....
God bless,
Mama san

Here's something for you to think about Yudansha...

Why would I waste my time concerned over things I have no control over?
Do you think walking in circles and reaching no conclusion is a sign of evolution?
I don't care where I came from. I am not concerned with evolution or creation (I am not a Christian, although I was born to a Christian family).
I am more concerned with the here and now, and how I can make things better for myself and those around me. That's what I have control over....not the Apes...not God.

He was born a Jew, but his teachings and the way he lived is closer to the Essenes of his time. It is also believed that he studied Buddhism and Hinduism. BTW Nicholas Roerich that Russian painter had a lot to do with bringing this information into light. In his travels to Tibet he found ancient manuscripts in which Jesus is mentioned as having being there. Of course after this information got out the Vatican made sure that nobody finds out about it.

Thanks, Jalu...
I know a little bit about his story: The one of the Jewish carpenter...
That seems a bit odd about the manuscript, but then to think they would hide
these things is even stranger, hmmmm...
He was who he was, but then things passed down tend not to stay as accurate...
I know that many believe he did have some strong buddhist tendencies, and hinduism, well, that's not surprising to me, as it's relation to buddhism is probably pretty obvious...:)
